Finished 15th out of 299 players, missed out on the real money, a little dissapointed. But feel I played well, so that's what counts. When my Fulltilt money comes through I'll be able to fatten up my Stars roll and have a crack at some bigger MTT's. I'm getting nicely adjusted to the 300ish man MTT's, feels like I'm learning more every time I enter one.

Stake: $100
You run it up to $300
Thats $200 profit
You cash out $100
BR is at $200.
You lose $50
BR is at $150
Staker wants to end arrangement
You pay staker back $125 (50% of the $50 profit rite?)
The actual profit was $150
Therefore you have to pay back$175
Your BR is $150 so you now owe $25.
This is not exactly right.

If you are staked for $100 and win $300, you send $100 to the backer and cashout $100 (50/50 profit split). If, after that, you lose $50 and the backer wants to end the deal, you never have to pay that $50 back. If you continue the deal, the $50 is makeup. So, in your scenario you send back the $50 left of the stake money and you made $100 of the deal. Hope that helps.

If you end up doing something stupid on the stake, you've learned that you simply can't deal with poker and in that case the stake very likely saved your own money. If you can finish the stake with no problems, then you have 1 year experience in sticking to brm, grinding, general discipline, etc, which is invaluable.

Though 1 year is very long to only play $2 180s. There should be room for moving up if you're doing well imo.
Yes, of course players move up. Players have started at $2 180-mans and moved up $12 180-mans to high-stakes mtts. It's all about working hard. But yea, the point is to move up

jared (interpleader) is a good backer; would suggest going with him as he offers the best coaching for MT SNGs (rivers) and also lets you shottake after you prove yourself

edit: used to be backed by him, so have exp dealing with him myself

we all heard these stories

'I'll get back on track, going to respect brm, I'll watch videos and try to improve myself'

Honestly I don't care what you do with the money ppl sent and/or the money you won at the tourney. I just might think that a poker career may not be for you. Don't get me wrong, I wish you all the best, etc.

also +1 for everything that Grindcore has said so far in this thread.

Confirmed.

OP, you're simply the way you are. Having aspirations to make money from poker will not end well. I strongly advice you quit poker. Even if you somehow manage to do well for months/years, there'll be a day where you'll go broke out of nowhere. It's just the sad truth. Seek help, join GA.

If you're playing vs. regs you might as well sit with your whole roll at PLO.

Should I get a stake for 2 dollar 180s with a 50/50 profit sharing split? Nah, donate roll to FT hu sng regs instead.

Seriously, why not just take your roll and flip it for a pre determined number of times and cash out anything that is left. This will be way higher EV even with the vig.

I got some money from an unrelated source with no other way to utilize it while in here I deposited it on Fulltilt, my roll was/is untouched. I know I could have added it to my roll, saved it etc, but I didn't. Not that I should really need to explain that to anyone, but apparantly some people spend their time investigating my play and "reporting" it here. To recap: I got some money, I lost it, it sucks, life goes on playing at Stars with roll and BRM. Seriously, if people are gonna be so quick to jump on me then you don't have to give me any more help/advice. I've appreciated all support so much but it's pretty lousy waking up to all of this, especially when it's obvious some people enjoy seeing me slip up. I'm the one stuck in here, I'm the one that lost money, and I'm the one baring it all for your entertainment.

If that sounds grouchy, well, I just woke up and haven't had my morning coffee in a loooooooong time.

people jump on your case because they want you to succeed. it doesn't matter that moneycame from outside and your original roll is untouched. it still is a bad habitand makes playing smaller stakes much difficult

Having total discipline might come easy for some, but for me it's a huge challenge, I'll admit it. I've got a lot of bad habits, being in this place prevents me from doing all of them except one. I am still far from where I want to be. Just have to keep trying, despite stupid mistakes. And if you wanna call me a degen you can call me a degen.
