It was clearly intentional. He didn't mean to kick him in the nuts, maybe, but he clearly meant to kick him. But it's all about the entertainment.

I agree completely. Either rescind the foul or issue a suspension. This "compromise" makes no sense. It is all about TV ratings ldo

I have no clue why anyone would truly believe this.

Metta jumped into the stands and beat the **** out of some fans, and you don't think a player known for cheap shots would kick someone in the nuts?

Players do things like this because they're frustrated and not thinking straight, the "he wouldn't be that dumb" defense assumes too much rationality

Last year it was 101.4, the best in the league! One of the best offenses ever while leading the league in defensive rating sounds pretty damn well rounded to me. Meanwhile, the super well rounded '96 Bulls DRTG was 101.8. Also offensively, the Warriors have TONS of action off the ball that most other teams simply don't do. Are a lot of their plays designed to get open 3s? Sure, but isn't that smart when you have Steph Curry & Klay Thompson? You're ignoring that they run tons of counters that lead to layups and dunks. Hell, they haven't even attempted the most 3 pointers this postseason.

I'm not here to rehash the dumb and unwinnable Bulls vs Warriors argument, but calling the Warriors gimmick-y or unbalanced is just flat out wrong and misguided.

Well I was underrating the great ball movement aspect of their offense, which of course is part of what made the Spurs so awesome a couple years ago. I would say that regular season stats can be lies and damn lies, as the saying goes. In playoff NBA, there is a level of physicality that the Warriors don't even approach. Of course that has been throttled back by rule changes, so, what I was saying about the new wave applies. I've already said they are awesome. What I am debating is they are gonna be a dynasty. Two in a row is a mini-dynasty of sorts so they are obviously close.

Some cats have issues, short fuses. That's why you have to respect a guy like Lebron. He likely had a less than ideal upbringing (racist ban), negative influences here and there. But, the positive forces of restraint and propriety, even under the extreme stress of 150 bpm physicality night in and night out win out. He prolly vents with his boys, but at the appropriate times and in private. Lotta emotion out there.. heads get hot. Rootin' for Dray and others afflicted to work it out. We all can relate. Behind the finer feelings, the civilized veneer, the heart of a lonely hunter guards a dangerous frontier.

MWP is one of the most unhinged players to ever play in the NBA. He isn't much of a point of comparison. It's certainly possible for players to act irrationally in the moment. I don't know what to say. It just didn't feel like that sort of situation to me. We've all seen Draymond way more frustrated and chippy than he was in the moments leading up to the nutshot.

One of the many reasons Rasheed was one of my favorites growing up. Nutshots notwithstanding though, dude deserves to be suspended.

It was a tie game practically. No reason to be that frustrated at that point in the game.

Ewing Theory is the dumbest **** OAT, especially since the dude who created it (Simmons's friend) thinks it holds for ALL of Ewing's teams even when he was young and in college. LOL

Look at what happened in '98 without him, and he's already old by then. '99 playoffs are such a bad argument considering they beat the best team in the east with him, beasted over the Hawks in 4, and then stole HCA from Indy before he went down (only losing the second game by 2). They get lucky on the bad call LJ 4 and some ****ing morons think it "proves" Ewing theory since they beat Indy after he went down. How could Simmons be so ducking dumb.

Best argument I think would be Indy 2000, though by that point they've already swept the Raptors and beaten the #1 Heat with Ewing scoring the final points of the rivalry. I heard their record in the ECF that year with and without him is bad for him (0-4 with, 2-0 without is what I think I read) but I haven't checked accuracy and don't recall it.

8-3 unless he was out one of the Miami losses.

Also you had the Mourning/LJ suspensions which wasn't an even trade-off. So that is another reason it wasn't considered much of an upset.

LJ/Zo got suspended in '98, fought with literally less than 2 seconds remaining in Game 4. Knicks had stolen HCA (no Ewing most of the season) but blew Game 3 (which I was at). Game 4 was nice to win but you knew they had no shot in Game 5 (best of 5) in Miami. Zo goes down and it's all over though, Knicks can score at will. Riley went up to Zo and said "you just cost us the ****ing series." Ewing Theory doesn't apply since Zo was out.

The big Knicks suspensions were 97 when they blew 3-1 bc of it. 00 was all out full-strength war for 7 games.

#HotTake

If the NBA is fixing games gotta believe GSW and Cavs will start getting many more calls going there way now both clubs have their respective backs to the wall, no way TOR vs OKC draws the viewers Steph vs LeBron 2.0 does.

He totally telegraphed his bullcrap PR role, played Mr. Slick, was actually Mr. Coverup, and I wanted to smack some sense into his lying, half slick, "I just know you are going to swallow this" attitude. Other than that he did a fine, believable job.
