Although I think rebounds > inbounds in terms of EV for opponents next offensive possession
Should be data on these points.

yeah nba wide ppp is ~5% better after a defensive rebound than a made shot. some teams are obviously much better off missed shots than made shots, up to say 10-15% better depending on the matchups, if not higher in weird cases

on the other hand the closer the shot to the rim the more often it'll be rebounded by the offense generally (~40% for at rim shots to ~30% for 3s generally). the oreb/dreb proportion changes with matchups too tho obv

Seth wrote a really good piece on that earlier this year: http://nyloncalculus.com/2016/01/06/...hree-pointers/

didn't go into OReb rate on shot type, but efficiency off rebounds is substantially higher than off inbound plays

Missed 3's are offensive rebounded a notable amount less but yes possession off a defensive rebound >> possession after made basket

Also sort of dependent on the team, and a bestbrook defensive rebound leads to a ridiculously productive possession(and guards/creators in general)

Durant and Wesbrook against the backups is a scary gamble on Kerr's part. This was a mistake imo by kerr. He should never have both Klay and Steph out at the same time especially for any extended time. Kerr sits Steph way too long on top of that. He leaves late or end of 3rd and doesn't come back in until sometimes with only 7 minutes left. That's like almost half the 4th quarter when the game can be in the balance.
Kerr seems to be bumping that Steph 4th quarter sub in closer to 9 mins left instead of the typical regular season 7 minute mark but I do see what you're saying. Kerr has shown the confidence to roll with his reserves longer than the common man but he's also in the finals again and the 3-1 comeback may not have been possible if Kerr didn't get those minutes of rest for his stars. OKC clearly gassed out some and yes it's frustrating to watch Kerr throw some WTF lineups out there but can't buck it too much overall until it ultimately ends up failing him.

I have no interest in watching the Warriors win, am not watching now, and won't watch any more games. I have better things to do. I have to hear these pathetic bandwagon'ers out my window from a chain pizza place with their whiny "Waaaaarrrrriooooorrrrs" chant, I don't need any more of it from the TV.

Did you just do a search for your name and decided to respond now? It seems odd to say you have better things to do and then respond to a post ITT from 05/30.

That's on you if you don't want to watch one of the all time great teams. You don't have to like it but kind of pussy to not appreciate just how good this team is. Your loss. Looking forward to your grandkids clowning on you when they ask about Curry and you can't tell them about it because you refused to watch. Grandpappy a loser.

OKC should get to play Cavs for 2nd place money. The 4th best team in the league making it to the finals thanks to a weak conference is saddening.
