XLIV was two #1s, at the very least.

No idea. Are you actually going to treat that as a serious post?

Funny thing is that I'm pretty sure the commercial was out before the NFC Championship. Would have been brilliant if the marketing team coordinated with him before the game.

"Hey Richard, you think you can do something in the next couple weeks to really piss off old white people without actually doing anything bad? If you can we'll hook you up with a 50% bonus."

"Ship it."

Didn't someone post some stats on the Broncos O-line that showed they were pretty bad?

If anyone has a link I'd appreciate it.

And if I'm remembering it wrong then never mind obv

I've heard you say this twice now and the stats just don't support it.

He looked bad on a few plays, scrambling 20 yards back and whatnot, but overall it was at worst a decent performance. Far from playing like ****.

I think this coaching staff is smart enough to know that they'll need to open up the playbook a bit for this one. The last couple games the game plan has pretty clearly been not to lose on offense, and Wilson has looked worse as a result. I doubt that gets it done against the Broncos.

I can't even talk about the game until my boy Russ Wilson gets a haircut, what are you doing there guy?

As for his recent play I feel as if the coaching staff has truly beaten into his head to "not turn the ball over" during this run. Make the smart play, the smart throw, trust our defense, we're at home, don't do anything to help the other team. Russ has been repeating similar verbage all playoffs in various interviews. Overall he's a smart QB but at the same time when he's playing his true brand of football he has absolutely no problem rearing back and chucking one deep in good coverage trusting his WR to make a play. I don't feel as if he's been doing that as much during this run and he's listening to what the coaches are telling him. If the Hawks want to win this game that Russ Wilson is going to have to show up and also be allowed to show up by the staff. I hope he does.

I guess what it comes down to for me is these two teams have not met this season, and we never know how they're going to match up on the field until they do. So we project.

I know Peyton can cut up a lot of defenses... read them, confuse them, hurry them, and top it off by tossing passes into holes the size of a ten-year-old eskimo's ahole. But he's going to have to do it all game against a beast of a D healthy and hitting on all cylinders. I don't think their run game will be very effective with a banged up Knowshon and who's that other guy? Peyton's gonna have to carry the offense, imo.

OTOH, as nondescript as Seattle's offense is comparably, it hasn't been too shabby this year with a great RB, and a young mobile QB who is better than he's played lately. So we're left with the x-factor, Denver's D. The unit ranked as low as 26th in the league for most of the season, but they're somehow inspired lately and playing out of their mind despite losing star players left and right. Still, Seattle has put up solid numbers on better defenses and I think they will have the edge here. Sea 24, Den 13

I think there was some attempt to open things up vs SF, you saw more longer developing routes and less of the slants and bubbles you'd seen in the past. Wilson just played shook as hell and Bevell didn't adjust for ****. It was weird. I think their plan was run, run, run, and then use play action to go downfield, but instead that 3rd part was Wilson sitting around holding the ball (or at times, not holding it very well).

But that said- that's basicallly a one game blip. Even in other games when Wilson hasn't played well, he didn't do it this way. Hopefully tentative, scared Wilson was a one time thing (and I think given his history that's a fair assumption).

I think you're being a little hard on Wilson here. I think I read he was pressured on >50% of his dropbacks in the 49ers game, which is gonna rattle anybody. I'd have to see the All-22 film, so I don't know how much of Wilson's holding the ball was on him versus his receivers not getting open. Obviously it was a little frustrating to see the offense not take any risks except when they had a free play, but it looked to me like that was more on Bevell (and the philosophy of avoiding turnovers) than Wilson.

Top of my head I'm not sure that number is any greater than most games we've played. The line, esp the interior, is not great at pass blocking. I'm prepared to be wrong though.

I can't ever recall Wilson looking so indecisive in the pocket. He's held the ball to wrong and over scrambled, but this was more just sitting there not pulling the trigger.

But we do agree that I place more fault with Bevell. I just think that guy isn't very good at his job.

The percentage of snaps in which Russell Wilson was pressured went up from 43.8 in the regular season to 53.7 in the postseason.
So, about 20% more pressures of late, no doubt a big part of that is the defenses faced.
