Yes, clearly the answer is to give up and validate those who think that sort-by-rangz is a great way to rank the best quarterbacks by nodding, participating in their conversation, and hoping that we can say "but hey look, Peyton has multiple rangz."

I also like to give booze to alcoholics because they're not going to stop no matter what I do anyway.

Oh, I forgot to add that we'll also be serving two custom cocktails base on home made liqueurs. The first is made with gin (New Amsterdam for NYC, ldo), lemon juice, and millefiori, a homemade spice liqueur. It's been dyed college navy. The second is made with rum, lemon juice, and home made persimmon liqueur. It's dyed action green.

At the end of the day, these are the two best teams in the league in yards per play differential, quarterback rating differential and points differential.

This thing's gonna come down to turnovers, and Seattle's the best team in a long time at manufacturing a win in that battle. I doubt Denver's keeping Manning on a leash, which means he'll drop back and give the Hawks a ton of chances to make a play.

In light of that, I like the Seahawks. But I also like the idea that if Denver wins, it'll be almost certainly because Peyton Manning GOAT'ed, turned in a performance in his 100th percentile and TOOK it from a great defense.

Maybe I'm just being stubborn, but IMO New England wasn't nearly as good by the time they got to Denver than they were earlier in the season. So many injuries - Talib the icing on the cake there - and IMO all of the better AFC teams sans Denver were a little overrated due to the comparative difficulty of the NFC. New England had the big win over Baltimore late ... but then was eeking out wins over the Clevelands and Houstons of the world as well as their players dropped like flies.

I think Denver's great ... but IMO Seattle went through a much tougher playoff path, tougher season schedule, and that more than anything is why they've looked sloppy.

If you asked me who I thought the top 5 NFL teams were all season, I'd say some combo (in no partic order): Seattle, Denver, SF, NOLA, CAR. Seattle went 5-1 against the other 4, and have a chance to beat the other one tomorrow.

NOLA on the road is not a top 10 team let alone 5. They averaged 17PPG ffs and lost to the Jets/Rams, almost lost to the Falcons. Playing them at CLink (or Invesco) would result in 2-0 about 100% of the time.

Seattle split with SF, Denver would have as well.

Carolina would have been a great win had it not been the first week of the season where the Panthers weren't playing well. That's kind of like saying Denver's win by 30 over the Eagles was impressive, but it really wasn't because Philly wasn't playing that great at the time.

So yeah 5-1 sounds impressive, but when you break it down some of that lustre is rubbed off. Denver gets dinged for playing and blowing out a bunch of bad teams, but it's not like they made their own schedule. Give Denver Seattle's schedule and they probably go 13-3 as well with the same splits.

Denver had the same record against like opponents (HOU/JAX/IND/TEN), both went 3-1, Seattle was +32 including two near misses to TEN/HOU while Denver was +55 and blew those two out.

So yeah I understand Denver played an easier schedule, but I think dinging them for crushing weak opponents is a mistake, especially when Seattle's schedule against "great" teams was quite favorable both in location and timing.
