I will say that if that alert is true, the only places they can currently hit are places Clinton won by 20+. So maybe Trump voters really are getting what they want out of this administration.

Uh what? If they've got an ICBM that can hit the coasts they can hit anywhere in USA#1. Of course, nobody is going to nuke Alabama or Kansas except by accident.

To hit the east coast they'd basically have to equal the range of some of the longest range ICBMs in the world. DC is safe. Sorry California.

If you can launch a suborbital rocket that goes 10k miles it is comparitively insignificant to design one that goes 13-14k and put every point on Earth in range.

I do think it's more likely if they decide to commit national suicide that they'd try to sneak a sub up close to a coastal city and fire a nuclear armed torpedo.

My googling has NYC as only about 1,200 miles farther from Pyongyang than San Francisco (6.8k miles vs 5.6k), is that such a big difference?

Can I get a cite on this? I was under the impression that the chances we'd be able to hit a NK ICBM would be similar to the success rate they'd have in having their rocket fly and detonate correctly (very small for both provided we had little advance warning of where they were aiming).

trump got a libel lawsuit against him for his tweets dismissed and i feel like this is kind of a big deal
