The heads of these media outlets surely have standing orders to their reporters to not disrupt other important stories for things pertaining to the President or silly things like interviews with him even if he approaches them to request the interview.

When people talk about subtle racism and microaggressions and the like, you may laugh and think you don't see it yourself, but that exchange is a perfect example of what they are talking about.
