Has Khabib beat any legit top ten guys? Serious question.

I hope Nate, Dustin, Weidman & Luke all boycott that event. Such a crappy main event and they also scrapped Valentina vs Joanna in December, which was a fun fight to make Valentina fight some unknown bum just because the UFC feels the fans care about belts more than interesting matcups.

I believe Rafael dos Anjos and Michael Johnson were top 10 ranked when they faced Khabib. Edson Barboza is currently ranked 6th in lightweight by UFC.

hot take or w/e, but I think Conor will try to eye poke Khabib. is there any european site where I can ask for some odds? william hill are doing it but I can't access it from my country. I doubt Pokerstars do it.

I was/am really looking forward to UFC 230 as the card stood. I never felt they needed to add a main event as personally i really like Diaz vs Poirier fight. I feel like Shevchenko vs Eubanks dampens my excitement for the card which doesnt make sense as everything I was looking forward to is still there. I get that they wanted to save face and not have to promote Diaz vs Poirier to the main event but this makes them look just as bad.

I personally wouldn't of made Shevchenko vs Eubanks because it ruins a better fight 1 month later but I honestly I wouldn't of cared much if it wasn't the main event. Dana White promising something big and this is the opposite. Funny moment when Joe Rogan found out on his podcast he said "I'm UFC commentator and I've never even heard of Eubanks". The card is strong but I would of just made Nate vs Poirier 5 round main event.

Barboza hasn't won a fight in a year and a half

Johnson has won one fight recently by split decision and hadn't won a fight in almost two years before then.

Dos Anjos hasn't won a fight at 55 in almost three years. He also has made every wrestler he's ever faced look like a world beater including Clay Guida.

Khabib won his belt off a part-time replacement fighter and has possibly the weakest resume of any defending champ outside of the women's divisions in UFC history.

Conor at +130 seems like one of the better emotional hedges ever

I like watching Invicta and even in Invicta that wouldn't feel like a 'big' main event. To me, even the upcoming fight between Aspen Ladd and Tonya Evinger is bigger than Schevchenko vs Eubanks. People were sour when Meisha headlined 200 and that was a big fight. I can't believe how badly DW has screwed this up.

Conor hadn't beaten anyone at 155 except post-USADA Alvarez. Dude had a good run beating smaller fighters at 145. It seems to me that he doesn't really fit the mold of a dominant 2018 ufc champion.

Mcgregor is getting mauled pretty badly, Khabib is just the worse matchup for him.

Nate Diaz is a bad matchup. Khabib is the perfect matchup.

I think there's a good chance khabib is gonna get knocked out against connor when shoots for the takedown like he did his previous fights. He should be smart enough to not try and kickbox connor for to long.

When he does get connor down its gonna be rough though

It's just gonna come down to whether Khabib's chin can handle Conor's left while he goes in for the takedown. Literally nothing else matters in this fight.

I have a new take. I think if Conor punches Khabib before Khabib grapples Conor he will win and vice versa.

From Conor's body language he doesn't seem confident at all.

And Nate Diaz

He beat Dustin Poirier at 45 who’s now a title contender at 55 as well as Aldo and Halloway who could easily move up to 55 and be competitive.

Khabib has a glaring defensive flaw in striking in that he doesn't tuck his chin. This is very obvious when he is backing up. Given Conor's striking ability, Khabib is tempting fate by not adjusting that defensive flaw. I can definitely see Conor putting him to sleep.

But if Khabib can close the distance quickly and take Conor down then it's all over. For 155, Khabib is incredibly strong and his wrestling + ground and pound skills are not in question.

I wonder if Conor will do his usual bullrush + spinkick at the start. Would probably be a mistake.
