The current frontrunner to face Max Holloway at UFC 218 on 12/2 is Jose Aldo, sources say. The rematch. Moving in that direction but not signed just yet, I’m told.

EDIT: I wonder if anyone has lost 3 title fights in the same weight class in less than 2 years. Or if he wins, he could have parts of 3 different title reigns in the same weight class in under 2 years (plus an interim title reign - lol). The Conor fight was December 12, 2015.

Not all the same weight class, but frankie edgar has got to be the only guy ever to lose 3 consecutive title fights in that same time period, 2 at 155 and 1 at 145. Probably the only guy to even lose 2 in a row and get a third chance too

Anderson Silva popped by USADA

Ah. yeah, he went from 15-1-1 to 15-4-1 in slightly less than ONE year.

LOL

I guess they felt he got robbed on the 2nd one of those though (and maybe the 1st one too).

Connor punching a ref in the face at bellator 187?
Seems like he's trying to get a ban

Pushed him, not punched.
I was standing beside the cage as it happened and tbh he looked like he snorted some nice coke, he looked fkd.
Took the limelight from his buddy by doing what he did, he's slowly starting to mess up.

Not like he doesn't have previous on the coke.

Bisping taking Silva's spot vs Gastelum. Seems like a quick turnaround. Also Aldo officially taking Frankie's spot.

Looks like Pettis broke a rib or tore an abdominal muscle

Didn't seem like he had much more fight in him anyway. Probably done as a contender for good. 155 is just way too good now. Good career though.

Conor would spark GSP. It would be over inside one round.

You are going to give someone with a handfull of fights left a % in a multi billion dollar company? For what? Because he is a big draw 2 times a year? That is what PPV cuts are for. ****, they guy hasn't defended his belt 1 time yet, and really hasn't beat anyone yet.

Precisely, except the last part. Holloway, Mendes, Aldo, and Alvarez are all somebodies

I'm a Conor fan - I like what he brings to the UFC. Having said that, I doubt he would get GSP outta there inside 1 round.
I think your giving a tad too much credit to Conor and not enough credit to GSP.

IMO there both very different fighters and I think it would not only be a very interesting match-up but, also a much closer contest than some people such as yourself are suggesting.

GSP is too smart for conor imo. I think he wins if he can make the cut to lightweight. His chances of winning increases if Conor moves up to Welterweight.

Like GSPs wrestling is THE best. He will find a way to take Conor down, and when he does, i don't see Conor able to get back up. And we all know what Conor's conditioning is like.

GSP also never overcommits with his punches, so Conor will have his strongest tool, counter-punching, taken away.

Aldo yes.
Holloway was 4 years ago, I would bet that is a lot different fighter.
Mendes was on how short of notice?
Alverez? Meh.

As someone whose lived in Dublin for years Mcgregor has never been shy about his partying, I know people who have been in the same room as him doing coke. He's off his head at that bellator event.

Mcgregor definitely seems to have things bounce his way on his run to the belts but its not like he has avoided anyone. He was meant to fight rda for the belt when he looked like a killer but rda pulled out.

Maybe you could say he avoided the top lw's after beating alvarez but i give him a break for that because the Floyd fight was for so much money. Saying that I think its important his next fight is vs tony. If not the I think the complaints against him will be fair

I don't think he would've fought Frankie or Mendes with a full camp. And he'll never fight GSP, Woodley or Khabib, especially the first two, those discussions shouldn't even be entertained.
