FWIW I question his actual popularity since online dating makes no sense for somebody who is A) In school and B) popular. That's a far more efficient + convenient dating network than anything the Internet may provide.

And even if he was an athlete with decent social standing, that pales in comparison to somebody who has the celebrity status of Te'o. He surely could have most anybody he wants in the ND student body, so why bother with silly online BS?

Dude is obviously gay or tried to build up a story for himself to get a higher profile & draft slot. Either one makes sense to me. For the latter, i don't really recall hearing much about him before he made this story up and his team started winning. Afterwards He had got all the way up to being the potential #1 pick before they got blew out in the bcs championship

The sicker thing is by covering this up until after the bcs game, how much money people would have saved or won for that matter if they came out with this before the game. I wanted ND to win but if i found out about this before the game, i would have definitely switched sides to alabama
