What are you talking about? Deadspin comes to conclusions all the freaking time, as does every other reported in the world. They had enough information to decide his girlfriend didn't exist, but didn't have enough info to decide that he was in on it from the beginning. You can't just see that they didn't come to the same conclusion as you about something and decide that's the one thing they inherently expect us to decide for ourselves. Doesn't work like that.

from reading the transcript it's kinda weird. i tend to believe him somewhat, but then again he seems to be tripping over the questionable stuff a lot (trying to remember the story?). but his answers to the true stuff that isn't up for debate are straight and direct, no mistakes. and it makes me skeptical that they didn't want this on camera. i thought going in it must mean he's kind of a disaster, and it sorta reads that way. they obv don't want this fumbling around showing up in youtube clips.

aggo has a point, although he's expressing it poorly. The news reports post-Deadspin scoop are far more likely to have spin and misinformation than the Deadspin story, because they are to some degree reactions from interested parties. I think we should consider each of them, but all with a healthy grain of salt, knowing that Te'o's camp is certainly trying to do whatever they can to portray him in the best light possible.
