+1

How anyone can say that Tebow played like crap is beyond me.

Obviously he made a few other good plays. It's not like every play was face palm-worthy. But he totally played like **** at several points. He threw for zero yards in the first quarter. They gained 8 total yards. He hung Decker out to dry, partially resulting in his injury. He missed a throw so badly that Phil Simms called it a throwaway. He blew the final drive in regulation when he made a wide open receiver dive for a completion (likely sacrificing 10-15 yards) and threw a bounce pass to a wide open receiver on 3rd down. Were it not for the botched Steelers snap later, that inability to throw a semi-accurate pass very well could have (and probably should have) resulted in a loss. He completed less than half his passes.

At the same time, he was able to hit a few open receivers beautifully on game changing plays and, as you said, he moved the chains a couple times with his feet (and scored a TD). It was pretty cool that the Steelers were basically saying, "You can't throw a pass, so we're not even going to worry about it," then Tebow said, "**** you, here you go," and threw an 80-yard TD in OT. That was fun to watch.

its the same people who think that Vick is a ****ty NFL quarterback because his passer rating is only like 80-something

yeah i wouldn't say that he played like crap or anything, but hater$ wouldn't really have [censored] to say if he improved to the point where he makes those easy throws to open players that basically every other QB in the world makes. there were a couple yesterday where it seems like he just throws it as hard as he can and misses by like 5 yards (giving the receiver no chance), when it's just an easy touch throw to a guy who is open. especially on 3rd down when it kills a drive to miss.

it's like he gets too amped up, or doesn't have finesse throws in his repertoire, or something.

10.0 does. The 28 number is the share.

Is that 25 number real? The ratings for the week previous, the highest rated show on TV got a 9.8. American Idol, the highest rated show on TV, regularly gets mid-teens.

Yeah it's real. That's a crazy, crazy number. Super Bowl usually does high 30s or low 40s I think, but that may be the most watched non-SB ever.

wanna add the long pass that he threw to some receiver early (i think at 6-0?) into the discussion mix. if the receiver dude expends a bit more effort it woulda been another 70 yd TD

I dunno, the idea of Tebow becoming like a second-rate Cam Newton and winning games completing 65% of his passes doesn't seem as much fun as what he's doing now

John 20:24-29(NIV)

24 Now James Proffett (also known as Jimmy[a]), one of the lolsteeler fans, was not with the 2+2 regs when Tebow came.

25 So the other posters told him, “We have seen the Lord! Broncos Win!”

But he said to them, “Unless I see the final score, and read the 81 pages (pro-style) of text proclaiming that fact, I will not believe.”

26 12 hours later the 2+2 regs were on the internet again, and Jimmy was with them. Tebow came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”

27 Then he said to Jimmy, “Open espn.go.com. Read the lol Steelers and gameday threads. Stop doubting and believe.”

28 Jimmy said to him, “My Lord and my Tebow! I'll will cheer you on next weekend and for the entirety of the playoffs.”

29 Then Tebow told him, “Because you have seen the highlights of lol Ike covering Demaryius Thomas in OT, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

This x infinity

That said, if Tebow can improve his accuracy (not sure if anyone else noticed, his throwing motion looked almost normal last night) even marginally... he's gonna be a beast.

Vick (pre-jail) is probably better comp.
