TomTom App is out.

Sorry for the stupid question, but I can't find an answer using a quick Google search.

I have a non-jailbroken iPhone 3GS. I have a Windows XP computer to which I sync the phone.

I recorded several videos on the iPhone. How do I move it to the computer? It's too big to email and I can't post it on Youtube because it's confidential. The one article I found said to just click on the Scanners & Cameras icon in Control Panel. But the iPhone doesn't show up there.

I thought it shows up in the same place as all your photos. Go to My Computer, click on your iPhone, and then just keep opening the folders until you get to one with your photos/videos.

I have no idea what's going on. I connected the iPhone just before I posted and it didn't show up under Scanners and Cameras. (Which is why I made the post)

I re-connected it after reading your post, and now it shows up.

WTF at the photos/videos being downloaded in a random order though. Why can't they be named/numbered by date taken?

$99 for the TomTom iPhone app eh. Sticker shock a bit there. I suppose it depends on how well it works, but for a hundred bucks, I can't imagine I'll give it a whirl without some real good info.

Anyone know if there are other turn-by-turn apps on the horizon?

Just got the tomtom app.

It's made of win £60, more expensive than the other ones but it's from tom tom so I had to get it.

the cookie combo game is really great. its not free but it's great to kill time. kind of a puzzle game. you have to find combinations of cookies duh addictive!

I stream radio a lot on my phone while I'm at work and Wunder Radio just came out with a great update where it will open a stream in quicktime through safari so you can play it in the background and do other things. It's fantastic, fits the way i use my phone perfectly. I recommend it.

What are the best radio apps out there? I don't really understand how they work so I was just wondering what the best ones are for up here in Canada.

Pandora's great, AOL Radio is great. They are both free.

Wunder Radio as mentioned above is the only radio app that you can do other things on the iPhone as it plays in the background. It's cost $6.99 though.

FWIW I use Pandora in the background all the time.. little program called "backgrounder" allows you to run any program in the background. Jailbreak only though.

Why in the world is The TomTom app $99 when there are other GPS apps for under 10 bucks? What does it do that the others don't?

Also when the hell are they releasing the damn Car Setup. Hopefully you can buy it without the stupid App.

Ok...so I am completely addicted to this game. I think I played it for at least 2 hours last night. My wife got upset last night when I kept the light on in the bedroom so I could calculate the cost efficiency of upgrading to either new gloves, pants, helmet, or jersey.

I just started. How do you buy new stuff? With Gold balls? Does it tell you when you are eligible? How are you accumulating the points or whatever you need to buy stuff (arcade, matchup, etc)?

In the bottom left, there is a "Items" button. Click on the item you want and it asks you if you want to spend that amount of gold balls. The number of gold balls you have is stated in the bottom right. The gold balls are awarded for each matchup you win, for each "mission" you complete, etc. On the main menu, if you click "Slugger" and then click the "Missions" tab, it shows you the various accomplishments and the number of gold balls awarded...the easiest one to get is to add 20 rivals...I think you get like 500 balls for that.

EDIT: Save up for a really good bat...you want to get your Power & Contact numbers way up, and I believe the really good bats add the most (each item shows the increase in each category if you buy it). But once you have a really good bat, start upgrading your other equipment which also adds Power & Contact numbers to your slugger.

OK, I'm getting better at this game. One funny thing I've noticed: ever since I changed my characters skin to dark lots of people don't want to play me.

I'm still not keen on JB my phone just to have a customised background.

I have a JB phone and actually left the stock background save for five icon dock and removing text labels from the dock. Agree completely with this sentiment, would never have jailbroken except wanted to watch Sling on 3g and use backgrounder.

The security risk and lack of battery power as well makes it a given to me not to do it.
