My rank climbed all the way to the 4000s and then I went on an absolutely abysmal stretch and have dropped to 12000ish. The breaking/offspeed pitches in the non-rookie channels are ****ing filthy sometimes, especially the knuckle ball. I also hold a particular hatred for the disappearing death ball. The knuckle/death ball combination is just a joke.

I have a jailbroken 3gs and am wondering if there is an app that lets you add passwords to specific apps/functions on the phone ?

Also, is there a proxy server for the iphone ?

Save the file as RemoveDeadTracks.js and then run it will iTunes is open. It will scan through your library and remove all of the tracks that can't be found on your computer.

I'm getting REALLY sick of the crappy battery life on this phone. It's 5pm, and my battery is at 18% left.

All email set to manual fetch, bluetooth off, no GPS use.

Made one phone call and did some light web browsing.

Just ridiculous.

Hmm, my battery on the 3G isn't nearly that bad. 20 minutes of game playing and 20 minutes of phone calls in a day generally leaves me around 80% in the evening.

LOL, no it doesn't. My batteries have always been fine. Playing Games and browsing the web eats up the battery.

No, my phone is not jailbroken. Completely stock.

Jailbreaking only uses more battery if you have SSH and other programs turned on, especially if you use backgrounder. Jailbreaking the device itself will not use more battery.

Having programs such as winterboard, sbsettings, cydia or any other jailbroken apps on your phone decreases battery just as much as any app from the app store. If you turn off the programs that run in the background with a jailbroken phone, it has 100% the same battery life as a stock phone.

With all the updates, I've found battery life to not be nearly as big of an issue as it used to be.

if you did one phone call and "light" web browsing, you should have about 80-90% battery life yet. how long have you had your phone? perhaps the battery is defective or nearing the end of its life cycle. my battery life has gotten significantly worse in the last month (phone is a year old) so i'm gonna take it in and see if i can get it replaced.

i can typically do 2-3 hours of web browsing, light phone calling, send emails, and play games for an hour and still have 20-30% life yet. i've only run out of battery life once in the year i've had the phone. under normal use i charge my phone every 2 days, and under light use i can charge it every 3 days (although this is admittedly rare).

oh also, i think i need to re-jailbreak my phone (currently stock but was jb at one point) in order to take off the "make it mine" service provider i have (which is "aj" rather than "att") since i want to try and get a new phone as my battery life has gone significantly downhill.

i have an iphone 3g with the 3.0 software (not 3.0.1). sounds like i just need to use redsn0w 0.8?

Wifi is a pretty big drainer of the batter if it is trying to auto join networks. Turn it off if you aren't using it.

your phone (as you describe it) is not at all representative of standard battery life. Something is amiss. Take it in.

I am listening to Pandora/Music most of the day and just keep a charger plugged into my computer at work. Even on heavy usage days I am fine if I plug in for ~30 minutes or so.

Only time I really had issues was a year ago looking for apartments in NYC. Was using it a ton to look up addresses, etc. and it would go dead in a hurry. The thing is though that any 3g phone using a good browser will eat battery, the iPhone may be slightly worse (I don't know) but I don't think there is a phone with a good 3g browser out there that will last through a day of heavy usage.

2 questions:

1) I got my iphone jailbroken. I've installed sbsettings and winterboard and put a cool theme on.

Now whenever I edit the "settings" (either via sbsettings or just the generic "settings" button) my top status bar disappears (cant see the battery life, signal strength, etc). In order to get it back I have to go back into winterboard and uncheck -> recheck the "Solid Status Bar" item and then I can see it again. Thoughts on why this would happen?

2) Tethering hoses my visual voice mail. I did the standard tether from: http://help.benm.at. I've googled the problem and people suggested doing the "reset network settings" option but that didn't fix it for me. The other suggestion was to remove the General -> Profile -> US AT&T but when I do that the tethering (obv?) no longer works, but VVM works like a champ. Thoughts?

Also yesterday little icons started to appear on some of my apps.

The icon is similar to the 'loading icon' in Safari, the rounds circle made up of dashes that rotate. Only the one on the apps, does not rotate.

I dont know why or how this is appearing. Yesterday it was on Mail, Messages and Phone. I would turn the phone off and on and sometimes it would then disappear. This afternoon it is on Ipod.

Any help would be gretaly appreciated, or if you could point me to a tutorial, I tried the Apple website but couldnt find my answer.
