I have been trying POF as well.

I concur, I feel like POF is the bottom of the barrel for dating sites. I think the fact the it is free attracts a lot of people who want to dick around. The quality of girls seems to be pretty low in general (obv. you will have a few hotties in there though).

I actually tried what the OP did except I made a profile of an attractive guy with a good job. Profile got a lot of responses except most were like one liners.
"Hey, how's it going?" was like 90% of the responses. Never got more than 2 sentences from them making first contact.
