When I was 13, the hottest girl in class asked me to meet her for a date in a local park. When I arrived she immediately handed me a small foil-wrapped item and urgently told me to go into the bushes and put it on. I was confused but did as instructed, and once I was in the bushes I was alarmed to discover that she'd handed me a condom. Overcome with a weird mix of fear and excitement, I unravelled the condom (it seemed unrealistically long) then attempted to put it on. It didn't fit! As I scrambled about with my jeans down to my knees, attempting to squeeze into a fully unrolled condom, obviously a gang of about 10 cool kids ran into the bushes laughing hysterically.

Cliffs: I feel sorry for these guys, please don't make them hang around in a restaurant with balloons. Thread is great though!

came across a match.com 7 days free trial so thought i'd give this experiment a try.

Profile is a young tan/mediterranean dirty blonde in her early 20s (8/10) that is the extroverted partying type.

Hello,
Your profile came up on my daily 5 and I really enjoyed reading it. I think we would be a great match if you are open minded with dating an Asian American with a Boston accent lol Take a peek at my profile and hopefully it will catch you attention I know we both are on here, not because we can't find a someone... but this site has def widen my prospective of an ideal match... which I think you may be the one hahah I am fun, exciting, popular with the best circle of friends. I have a great job, athletic, and a huge dog lover. I know people spice up there profile to make it look good... but I am what I am. I am willing to share my facebook profile if you are interested.

Wow…hi!
So... here we are...I can't believe I'm going to share my whole thought process about emailing you...but why not?
First, I figured, what the hell, just email her. Which brought me to here...
Then I didn't know what to say(first impressions are uber important, aren't they?).
And now I am rambling, so I'll just tell you that I read through your profile and was intrigued by what I read about you, it left me thinking "hmmm"...and while I may have a few questions that I would ask, you seem very interesting to me. Of course I looked at your photos too...and while I don't really have a 'type'...you really peaked my interest, are very pretty, energetic and fun...love your smile, its very genuine. Ok, so... I think you are a knockout!
I guess my profile tells you all about me...but if there is something you might have a question about, please ask away, I am happy to share anything about my life, I am very open and upfront...I think it is very important. My name is Matt, my friends call me Mattie.
I know we don't exactly live in the same town, but we are definitely close enough to grab a drink and talk, right?
Let me know what you think...hope you have a great weekend!

matt

Wow. Seems Match.com guys are not nearly as creepy.

Although some of them fail, none of them are super creepy.

And for those just tuning in, the 4chan involuntarily flashmob begins in 13 minutes.

it's supposed to be earthcam.com/usa/newyork/timessquare (Camera 2) but the site must be getting too much traffic. Got a 'currently unavailable' after several minutes of loading and now the site seems to be down.

Yeah, looks like it is down for maintenance. I guess their evil plot has been foiled.

The camera is working fine for me.

doesnt seem to be anyone of note showing up though. There is a couple who are obv 4chan people (if you follow the line that the taxi is about to cross, the 2 standing on the near side of the street where it hits) and several have come up to take a picture of the forever alone face on side of phonebooth. Couple creepy guys have shown up but not with synchronized attire or anything.

lol nvm there are def a couple victims now. tall bald guy is for sure, he was there 10 mins earlier too looking like he was supposed to meet someone.

Got onto the webcam. The people you've identified as 4chan are still there seemingly an hour later. That in itself is 100x more pathetic than any of the guys they were trying to get to go there.

There seems to be 2 clusters of 4 chan users there and nothing else. Pretty terrible fail.

Match is legit. You have to pay for it after the trial membership so people actually take it pretty seriously. Lots of female teachers and lawyers use it. That's been my experience anyway.

I mean sure its not a normal thing to do, but I would imagine it would give a great in look at "competition" on these sites if you were actually trying to use it for dating.

4chan Forever Alone Flash Mob that happened this Friday 5/13/11 on 7:45 PM by Times Square

http://www.viceland.com/wp/2011/05/f...tary-flashmob/

Here are some of the highlights

Quote:
Last night in New York, a group of (presumably) single guys gathered by a couple of phone boxes in Times Square. On the face of it, there’s nothing too remarkable about that – people date all the time in New York, right? It’s what Americans do. But then again they were these phone boxes, with a public access CCTV camera trained upon them 24 hours a day (navigate to Cam 2). There was also a cut-out of that “Forever Alone” guy’s face stuck on the side of them, and 4Chan had lured all the single men there by pretending to be women who wanted to date them. Stir that all up in a big, cruel pot, and you have yourself a “Forever Alone Involuntary Flashmob”. We grappled with our consciences and managed to pin them to the ground long enough to send a couple of photographers down to capture the sadness.
