So it is clueless and selfish to look upon what he did to his roommates and those people and think only as far as "But how does this stabbing relate to meeeeeeee?" and congratulate each other for their brave twittering and taking a stand against murder while no one can be assed to find out if his (male) stabbing victims had Downs Syndrome or not. What I am getting so far is that he wanted a girlfriend as a badge of validation. He doesn't care about mutual desire only that he be good enough to attract a trophy girlfriend so that everyone else would know he was a winner.

It's quite laughable that some people have settled on the fact that he's gay because he enjoys a bit of Whitney Houston. his excessive usage of the word 'fabulous' may be an indicator, but leave Whitney out of this!

He realizes he has to put effort into it and he tries and at first he is making progress at having friends. The problem is he starts playing WoW and so losses a bunch of years. By the time he starts trying again it is much harder and he really does suck at everything he does.

He also realized that wealth would help. He attempts to pressure his mother to marry the wealthy men she dates. She has no desire to and he resents her for not making the sacrifice of getting married to a wealthy man so he could get the flow-through of being from a upper class family. His second plan at wealth is winning the lottery which he tries to do and has a very strange relationship with -- mostly influenced by a desperate desire to believe in the Law of Attraction.

I think my feminist cred is well-established here, but this circumstance is really not the place to set up shop. Oh, did you hear about the bipolar guy with a lifetime of narcissistic injury who machete'ed his friends? Yes it reminds me of the time I was waiting for the bus aged nine or ten and some man blocked the entrance, pulled out his partial erection and smiled at me...
