Back to the basics. Atleast I'm rolled for it this time
Playing too many tables kinda happened to me too. about 6+tabled all November. Sometimes less and when things werent going for me i just added tables thinking it would even out things a little and after going back at it at the beginning of December i kinda saw i had 29/25 at some sessions stacked off with AK vs total nits and called too many 3bets OOP and just did so many stupid moves. Main reason: was not paying attention.

25nl
Nov: 2$/h (alot of losing sessions)
Dec: 16$/h (green sessions most of december)

Nitted up in December. really gave thought to what i was doing played 3/4 tables and rubbed maneys on titties.

+1 here for opening more tables when playing poorly. i do it way too much, particularly when i should be working on the basics more.

it's a br killer, and a habit that is too easy to slip in to

bankroll up to 182, closer to 10NL everyday.

I'm going to take a shot and 4 table 10NL with 50BB. Will move back down to 5nl if my bankroll gets below $140. If my bankroll hits $200 i will full stack 10NL.
Awful session half stacking NL10. A few bad beats got me tilted, so opened more tables to try and recover losses. More bad beats, more tilt. Finished the session -366bb.

Monkey tilt shot with all my bank roll spread across 4 table of 25NL go on a bit of a heater and finished that session +173bb.

Bankroll $169 + ~$9 rakeback

25NL seems way more aggro than 10NL, lots of people 3 betting light oop.

Gonna chill for bit and read some strat then get back to 4 tabling 5NL.

I've been tempted, but the fact my laptop struggles to fit in even 4 tables stops me from doing so!

Plan of Attack:
  • Stick to playing just 1 form of poker (cash) as opposed to swapping between STT's, MTT & Cash.
  • Start out in NL10 and try and get 500-1000 hands a day 4 tabling and review every session! (Big problem for me i just dont do it). Get myself a 20k hand sample at NL10 to see if i can actually maintain a winrate and find where my leaks are.
  • Get a subscription to DeucesCracked
Done!!
  • Get healthy! Im sure this affects my play somewhat and when i get home from work probably feel more up for playing.
  • Hopefully by the end of the year be a solid 25NL player on the brink of 50NL
  • Looking to move up after 50-100k hand sample providing i have 25-30 buyins for the next limit.
  • Read all my books i have lying around unread!
  • Participate more on 2+2!

highly doubt this is very uncommon among most of us, and quite frankly don't think it's too much of a biggy if you master more tables, yet not as sufficient as the less. but although it will decrease my winrate, it serves my game greater when playing poorly, making me play less hands at each table and not spewing off too much.
01-03-2010 , 07:24 PM
Yea I don't think I necessarily play much different 8 tabling than my usual 5 or 6 but when running bad/leaking somewhere it's def. better to play less. I already can see the difference between just 4 and 6.

You can start by stop cold calling my UTG raise from the BB. Just trying to help dude.

If I had any clue who you were in my DB I'd see what hand you were talking about but thanks for some irrelevant info. Prob when I 8 tabling and stuck.

I dunno. I'm inferring it didn't fare well for DaveW, since he commented? I'd lay pretty good odds you were just set-mining a small PP and DaveW, position-conscious 2+2'er he probably is, has a pretty narrow UTG raise range. Perhaps 12.5% or so? (22+,ATs+,KJs+,QJs,AJo+,KJo+)? Which you felt gave you decent odds to setmine?

Or perhaps you just don't like folding your BB?

not a good way to kick off the new year. I seem to get raped whenever I argue here, my play gets worse and I get run over.

Time to ditch this site once again.

How do I get the mods to IP ban me? 2+2 is equivalent to crack, you just keep on going back to waste your time.

Maybe go to the temp-ban thread here and plead your case?

took a beating on full tilt today, stars was nice though. I managed to make about $2 on cash, shipped a .25 45-man and the chip leader in a .25 90-man with 13 left (12 cash). I didn't really play too much saturday, I'm usually at work all weekend. It seems most are doing well so far, keep up the posts and the hard work guys gl.

Start to Current:
Stars: $6.10 at $13.72
Tilt: $7.95 at $10.34

Yea that's what I figured when he posted. The problem is I can't remember flopping a lot of sets today or really getting in any big pots out of the BB. My HEM doesn't have any big hands out of the BB in my last 500 hands either. Very odd. I think he must have the position wrong or it was in the beginning of my session.

In any case you are most likely correct. My calling range out of the BB is fairly tight tbh so if I doubt I had total air or anything. Mostly setmined you 100bbs deep and if you don't see how thats profitable at micros, I'm sorry.

Finally... Finally my KK doesn't get cracked by an Ace or some random 2 Pair river suckout.

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.10(BB) Replayer
SB ($50.50)
BB ($12.35)
UTG ($10)
UTG+1 ($10.25)
Hero ($11.20)
BTN ($9.85)

Dealt to Hero K K , fold, UTG+1 raises to $0.30, Hero raises to $1, fold, fold, fold, UTG+1 calls $0.70

FLOP ($2.15) K Q Q

UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $1.80, UTG+1 raises to $3.80, Hero raises to $10.20 (AI), UTG+1 calls $5.45 (AI)

TURN ($20.65) K Q Q 8

RIVER ($20.65) K Q Q 8 T

UTG+1 shows K A
(Pre 33%, Flop 0.5%, Turn 0.0%)

Hero shows K K
(Pre 67%, Flop 99.5%, Turn 100.0%)

Hero wins $19.65

Bankroll - $830 - Looking good now, will release $10 with 70 more VPP thanks to the reload bonus

Reading good (Ace high calldown is good ... chopped though b/c he also had AQ) and running good (had someone donate their stack in a "bluff" attempt on the river with ace high vs my KK) are always a good combo for a successful session.

4betting BlaneH and stealing part of his stack also helps :P

$359 --> $378
01-04-2010 , 02:56 AM
What did you bluff me out with there? I had JJ and no read at all .

BR-413

Smaller tables=I win again. Even under one buy-in of EV. Played smart and tight. I think I'm gonna stick to 4-6 tables for th rest of the month. Anything more and my win rate obviously suffers.
01-04-2010 , 04:31 AM
$103.82----->$123.53

Ive posted my goals in here but havent updated my BR since the part 3 thread.

So since then Ive moved from 2NL FR to 5NL FR (woohoo!), have played quite alot since then, its been less than a week but Ive played ~5500 hands over that time, a mixture of 6-tabling, and more recently 4 tabling. At 2NL I was 8-tabling, but thought I definately need to move down to get to grips with good play at 5NL, and more recntly due to bad winrate (plus super swingy), I dropped to 4-tabling.

For example, over todays sessions, I was breakeven for about 1700hands, then in the last 400hands, I finally hit a heater and ended the day on 10ptbb/100.
01-04-2010 , 04:38 AM
suprisingly didn't play many cash games today. got 200 hands of cash for +$100

played sunday $215, 3500th of like 9k people. won a 45man $24 for $410. i gave everyone the chance to chop as i was the chipleader for the whole SnG but people wanna be stubborn.

Cleared 50% of the $150 bonus, too bad they don't release any of that til its fully completed.

Bankroll $1100 ---->$1600

thinking about deucescracked year subscription
