Very interesting hand just played. I was worried about the flush on the flop. I've been reading about and people have said bet a small amount to see where you are in the hand, so I decided to do that. I was ready to throw it away based on a re-raise and depending on how much it was. Sure I got lucky to hit the 2...but also definitely a lesson on why you shouldn't slowplay at the micros?

EDIT: Hmm, pretty obvious now after speaking to people I should have bet more on the turn and river...will know for the future...

Why are you betting to see where you are at - You pretty much flopped the nuts on that flop so you should be betting for:

a) Value
b) To price draws

Flopped flushes are so rare - even if CO raised you just 3bet/shove - You've got like 30% Equity even if he does have the flush.

No - I agree with the bet on the flop since your betting for both value/to price in straight/flush draws.

I'm just disagreeing about what you said regarding betting to see where your at.

Villian does this with weaker Kx for value ... throw in the occasional bluff (missed T9, random spew with air) and it's enough for me to call the river

Hand 2: Rolling in Slansky bucks imo if you knew he was making random spewy plays or tilt shoving ATC

BR at $81.44, which would actually be down from a week ago except I went 1 for 2 in 210fpp satellites, netting me $10.90 after selling the $T.

Here's a chart I saw the other day while reading about investing. Ironically, when I got home from work and searched for it again, the first place I found it was in a post over at flopturnriver.com. Seems very apt for poker.

Hand 1 pot flop/turn/river.

Hand 2 raise.

Cliffs: Don't play 2nl FR. Just switch to 6max until you move up.

Plus the $6.50 and lower I'm at 21%, breakeven (-1%) for the $16s and $13.50s. Maybe it evens out at some point. It did for the $3s and $6 I used to mix.

Eventually

it is a very easy game to play badly even if you should know better. I may have run a little well. otoh you can play well for hundreds of games and break even so I'm fairly happy as far as that goes.

normally I play 10nl and/or 25nl... $3-$6 sngs..and $3-$26 mtts. I was bored and felt like playing heads up.. so I sat down at the $15 cap game.. won a small amount from some Italian... got owned by some random red pro when he hero called me..and then ran hotter than the sun vs enprinte.

I played my first proper session in about a week. 2.5k hands and I started off pretty bad, losing in ridiculous spots and before I knew it I was stuck over 6 buy-ins. Managed to make it back and had an attack at the 100-250bb games and got a bit of profit for the day too. Tomorrow's mission is to just win without the 6 buy-in downswing at the start

Biggest hand of the day.
