back from live game at a casino. I do a standard raise utg with AA, guy near LP shoves with around $170 (85ish BB), I snapcall. He lands a set with JJ. 3 hands later, I'm short stacked, utg does a live five and everyone calls and I'm at BB with JJ, I shove and the same guy earlier called. AK VS JJ, I bust =(.

Aw, I feel for you man That sucks. I had kind of the same thing happen to me on stars. There was a combination of disgusting beats, tilt, bad play and more beats which saw my BR get demolished.

No FU stars! kkthxbai - playing at FTP now, so far I like it better. Plus, getting rakeback is nice aswell

Good luck grinding it up again mate.

archie also 99= big pair, & its okay to iso raise utg limpers with it oop or ip... also bet size should be based on board texture... meaning 80-100% pot on wet flops such as the hand you just posted and dry flops bet 50-60% pot... logic behind it is that villain calling/raising range will be based on board texture and hand range and it is to maximize value when your ahead and lose less when your behind

BR-124

Another terrible session. 2011 starting like 2010 did. Both my losses due to the 88/56/45 open shove SS fish. His 4th open shove for a dollar, I snap call with A10dd he has AJ J104 flop. Couple handles later he opens UTG for .20, BTN with 20% 3bet makes it .75, I shove with AK expecting BTN to fold and UTG fish to call, he folds, BTN pauses and calls with KK and I brick. UTG leaves couple hands later.

at least it won't feel so bad next time.

-77% roi in my SNG today.

Was playing $3s and $6s rather than $6s and $16s tho. Running good in running bad ftw

Current br= $192

Playing 10nl 6max, and 2.25 sngs atm. Soon I will take shots at the 5.5 or 6.5 sngs, and hopefully I will also keep running well so I won't have to drop back down. The sng's have been helping my roll grow the most, and they are really soft, so I will probably concentrate on putting in the most volume there. I will 4 table 10nl every now and then and work on improving my cash game too.

Wish me luck!

Hi everyone (1st post)
Been a reader of this forum since last summer. Started playing back when online poker was new and amazing thing. then studying killed the "hobby". Now getting back at it. And boy has the game changed since then

I have been shuffling between PS and FT but even though ppl say FT has tougher uNL I think the rich Americans are more happy to push money on the pots than the ubernitfeellike micros in PS... I think I will be paying FT more but do some MTTs in PS.

Well Goals are pretty much to get solid again and go above the level i used to be. 10nl by the end of the year atleast.

2011 has been treating me well. Been playing 2nl 6max to get the feel of the game again and so far stuff like this keeps happening. So I´ll just enjoy while it lasts

You want to be betting that flop and consider even getting it all in if you get raised. Raise more pre-flop too. Min raises suck.

if your referring to my post. Well I usually dont put 3bb from utg on such a risky hand as AQs. Especially on shortstackled table being the bigstack putting in 3bb UTG would have scared away most opponents. I know its solid tactics but stealin .03c isnt paying off as luring in few opponents every now and then.

But thanks for the advise have to consider that next time. Every piece of intel you kind ppl provide is highly appreciated
01-14-2011 , 09:37 PM
AQs is not a risky hand when you have people sitting with 12bb and 40bb. It's a hand you pretty much have to commit with unless you have some read on them. Maybe for over 50bb you'll have to give it more thought but you beat a lot of hands that are going to shove for 12bb. Alternatively, sit at the tables where people are playing deeper, that way you can play your normal game and if you hit something good you'll win more than 30c from a short stack.
