Doesn't it fit our government's MO though to just create a mess and then hope the void is filled with something more beneficial?

You won't find many businesses with a reputation as good as Stars. It's like these sites got totally slowrolled

Stiff fines ok, but everyone facing pretty much life in prison + billions in fines?
Say what.
Dude this is the U.S we are talking about... They sentence some people to like 300 years in prison(NO JOKE) They really do need to work on that but it's the U.S Gov so they must be right.

+1

B&M lobbyist money was money spent towards setting up more operations/favorable tax rates for their land based business in various states, while less than 10% was spent towards eliminating online gaming.

The percentages now have the opening to even out now that a) their competition is gone, b) gov't is strapped for cash, and c) players are demanding an avenue to play. This grass-roots enthusiasm can be used by big B&Ms to string along their online gaming venture interests.

WSOP MAY lose money in the short run with those who can't access their rolls/stakers to play in the events. But in the long run, huge fist pump for big gov't/big business.

Since the .com sites have been returned / switched on and the Sites said they are/will pay players...

... Has anyone in the USA actually got payment from Stars or FT since Tuesday April 19?

... If so what method? Check, e-Wallet ($Bookers, Netteller - this would be in EU, etc?) Courier Pigeon?

US is truly vicious in criminal justice. Look at incarceration rates on Wikipedia. At any one time 1 in 70 adult males are in Jail. US has 4% of worlds population and 22% of prisoners.

Land of the Free is a f!!cking joke.

It's not the only Country with harsh Laws & hard core Incarceration...

... In the EU, Spain & Italy are notorious for Pre-Trial Detention & Human Rights / Due Process Violations,

... In Latin America due Process & Human Rights Violations are a Joke,

... Than theres the Communists, Russia, North Korea & China, wholesale Genocide & Labor Camps Comrade,

... In Canada several high profile wrongful Life convictions, recently thrown out & those people freed after 20+ yrs,

... The New Zeitgeist Movie Documentary www.zeitgeistmovie.com is a good summary of the US System...

In this Case Money Laundering is not a charge that seems beatable given the Evidence of Criminal Wrong doing.

Seriously we should all move to the middle east or Libya where people are free to kill each other and commit any crime they want and don't have to go to this bull**** "jail" you mentioned!

Umm, Stars itself says it will take a few weeks to get the process in place. Please read their FAQ.

I was asking directly from (mostly US) players if they have got electronic or paper Cash Outs prior & since 19th.

... If there are any EU or other Countries Players that have got paid since the 19th please keep telling us.

... Of course the Sites' will have FAQ's & Statements...

... I don't take what they say as Gospel Truth I am more interested in their Actions, actually paying not talking.

... All Cash Outs Will Be Reported to other Feds (IRS etc)...

Read Prof. Nelson Rose...many Great Legal view points & Consequences...

... http://www.gamblingandthelaw.com/art...o-the-irs.html

While this was written about Land based Casino's in this Specific Case applies to Stars & FT a DEAL with the FEDS.

... Means REPORTING on US (probably ALL) PLAYERS, YES YOU & your $2.50, for Pro's with Millions...?

... It's not so much if u have something to hide (not doing ur Taxes) but getting assessed more $$ going back years.

Dear (IamPro),

We have good news to report! Yesterday, the Department of Justice (DoJ) responded to the massive political and grassroots pressure generated by members of the Poker Players Alliance (PPA) and is allowing U.S. players to access their funds from PokerStars.com and FullTiltPoker.com in the near future.

PPA members sent more than 65,000 emails and letters since Tuesday April 20, 2011, and made thousands of phone calls to the DoJ, the Administration and Congress demanding access to the money in their online accounts as well as condemning the DoJ’s declaration of war on poker. To read our press release in response to DoJ’s releasing of players funds please click here.
However the fight isn’t over yet! The next two weeks your congressional delegation is back in their home states on recess. Please take a moment and call each of them in their local offices and tell them:

  • You’re a voter, constituent and a proud poker player
  • The Obama DoJ has taken away my rights to play poker -- please support my rights by co-sponsoring H.R. 1174, a bill that will license and regulate online poker
  • This bill will bring the industry onshore creating countless jobs and billions in revenue without raising taxes
  • Please support sensible regulation of online poker

PPA members have won a great victory by coming together and letting our elected officials know we will hold them accountable for their actions. We need to keep up the pressure so please act today!

Proud to play,

Senator Alfonse D’Amato
PPA Chairman

Yea sure lol

Was Alfonse playing Micros' or Freerolls? "proud to play", with what?

takes a special kind of person to live in America. Don't expect everyone to stop their cars and let you cross the street.

In America it's all about making money, if you don't agree then GTFO of the way.
