Full Tilt Poker has no accounting of the millions of dollars of player funds that were seized by the government; and the government has not agreed to permit any of the seized player funds to be returned to the players.

"Finally, there are numerous legal and jurisdictional issues that must be considered before poker winnings can be paid out to players throughout the United States.

While Full Tilt Poker continues to believe that online poker is not illegal under federal law or in 49 states, the indictment and civil forfeiture action filed last Friday require Full Tilt Poker to proceed with caution in this area..."

Following discussions with the US Department of Justice. PokerStars has now entered into an Agreement which has been publicly filed. The US Department of Justice Agreement expressly states that the domain name can be used by Pokerstars outside the US to facilitate the provision of real money poker services, and that Pokerstars can pay out player balances to its former customers in the US.

Its baffling to me how quickly Pokerstars can do this, and how much of a bull**** statement by FT this is. FT has always been slow pony when compared to PS, but hopefully that will not be the case. Get with the ****ing program you idiots.

i have a question someone here may know ....and please dont burn me at the stake for asking it is relevant to playing on foreign sites....i also know this wouldnt help the online pros just the recreational players but ...here is the question.....dont the sites have numerous freerolls all day long that dont require deposit....is there a reason that players (besides the recent doj statement) cannot play for free with the chance to when real money...isnt the "legal" issue depositiing? just wondered if anyone else has ever asked this question? so some micro stakes rec guys could still throw away cpl hours playing for fun? if this is a dumb question then sorry.....but i wanna be a freeroll pro the first lol i know im just kidding but funny

Im not familiar with international agreements on fair trade and practice and competition but heres how I view things.

Pokerstars and Fulltilt were 2 highly successful and profitable international companies providing poker for many years to residents all over the world including the Usa. Then the usa decided for whatever reason it didnt like this and wanted to shut things down. It brought in a law (UIEGA) to prohibit americans deposting money on these companies sites. The companies felt that this action was unfair and illegal and decided to carry on offering services to usa residents. With the introduction of (UIEGA) the companies now found themselves in a position where they could be accused of using illegal practice to receive american players funds. People state that the companies were making brides, committing fraud and money laundering but in the same sentence recognise the unfairness of (UIEGA) which effectively closed down these international companies from operating in the american marketplace. Now with the international companies and biggest competition removed from the american market the usa is likely to legalise online poker and poker transactions. The very transactions which it made illegal under (UIGEA) when both pokerstars and fulltitl were operating. So now the situation will be a clear market for american casinos and governement to launch its own online pokersites having forced out highley successful international organisations.

Its similar to the uk for example banning apple from selling ipods under a law that says it damages hearing and affects concentation forcing it out of the market. Then launcing its own lucrative ipod and having full market share.

I don't think it's a bad question.

Probably the US + the sites will come to a conclusion... but what exactly would stop you from playing freerolls? Hell, there could even be an idea for the sites to keep some people coming back... I don't know. Shoosh, just do not contact your government and ask that.

Good question. And sorry for no answer, really.

ya this all seems pre-planned. push the 2 largest sites out of the US markets - now we have to sit in a blackout period - then they'll swoop in. Best guess whenever that will be...

Money wires for gaming purposes, has been illegal for many, many, years now. The UIGEA did not invent, or create this. All it did, was define it, so on-line gambling would fall under the wire act. Basically, because of the internet. Implying, people could now use the internet, to launder money, and gamble illegally. No need for the phone. Just log on to one of these sites, via the internet, and presto...

it is a shame the DOJ announced they were requesting and helping americans get their money back so fast....here is why....everyone panicked and started suggesting players ban together and write politicians, start up websites basically something us americans just dont do that much anymore....i was excited watching the "brotherhood" of players rallying against the big uncle...but now players will go "oh im getting my money back?, yeah....no need to call write or protest"....i was looking forward to all of us me included banning together instead of well the ridiculous banter of calling everyone fish and tards
as far as that goes ...take it international....the constant americans suck, and germains, russian comments etc etc i dont wanna repeat them for once lets just call ourselves the "human race" its not black or white its a human thing and its a poker thing...often reading these forums make me ashamed to be both.....even though i am one more than the other lol all have a nice day all of you regardless of where you live play or wanna be???? and yes i am glad anyone with real money in ftp stars should be getting a green light just stay together as a group thats all...

Big surprise, you wrong again. Casino's allow wire transfers from out of state. Would be great if you stopped spreading false information.

just to follow up on the post ProkkeR made

Quote:
The agreements allow for PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker to use the pokerstars.com and fulltiltpoker.com domain names to facilitate the withdrawal of U.S. players' funds held in accounts with the companies, according to the statement.

"No individual player accounts were ever frozen or restrained, and each implicated poker company has at all times been free to reimburse any player's deposited funds," Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharra said in a statement. "In fact, this office expects the companies to return the money that U.S. players entrusted to them, and we will work with the poker companies to facilitate the return of funds to players, as today's agreements with PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker demonstrate."

Guys, please go to FB and like Tom "Durrr" Dwan's question to Obama. If enough ask, it should get asked, and we may hear what your President actually thinks about this BS.
