Gambling is legal in Casinos. I pretty much thought that this went without saying. A gaming "web site" is not a casino. Most, are Not licensed. And most are overseas. And the wire act of 1961 says this is illegal. However you would like to interpreted that law is up to you. I had no idea that you were a lawyer. But until you go to court, and argue different, then this is the law right now. Please stop saying that I'm spreading false information. Please look it up at least, before you call me out on something. Don't just read me a card that you got out of a drawer, in your LasVegas hotel room.

You will not be able to play real money games or FT or Stars if you're american for the foreseeable future.

DoJ releases statement saying FT and Stars have their US domain names back to facilitate player withdrawals.

Stars says shortly after: Yo US folk - expect to be able to withdraw within a few weeks.

FT says shortly after: Yo US folk - your funds are still frozen. The government isn't letting us get at them. Plz wait + pray kthx.

I live in Canada and when this thing started, I tried to withdraw my money through instadebit. I was able to get to the confirmation screen and figured everything was fine so I didn't withdraw.

Now, when I click select for instadebit it says it is unavailable, I can't order anything from the full tilt store etc. I emailed Black Card and haven't received an answer.

I thought this wouldn't affect foreign players? Is anybody else who lives outside of the US able to withdraw your money?

I for one will not be using Full Tilt again after my money is out.

Stars withdrawals for non-Americans are mostly fine, FTP withdrawals for non-Americans are mostly not fine. There's a known issue with FTP and instadebit. All you can do is wait, but I wouldn't be sweating if you'll get your money.

way to overreact, but why not try some other withdrawal option if you are in a hurry to get your money off the site? and yes non us people are withdrawing money from ftp

You forgot that in the agreement that Stars and FTP have to report to the US government who cashes out and for how much.
04-21-2011 , 08:49 AM
i posted this before the agreement was made..the sites will know how much u get etc...

Anyone else think the years these owners may get if convicted to be unreasonably harsh?

You won't find many businesses with a reputation as good as Stars. It's like these sites got totally slowrolled

Stiff fines ok, but everyone facing pretty much life in prison + billions in fines?
Say what.

Thanks for pointing this out. Does any one know why FTP is having problems with Instadebit? I see it has been removed from FTP but you can still use instadebit on stars.

I was under the impression one of the contentious issues was that the actual term used in the law was that you couldn't process money for "illegal online gambling" not "online gambling" and that the argument was that sites like FTP/Stars did not constitute "illegal online gambling" as they are fully licensed and legal in their respective areas.

Am I wrong to assume that the big picture of this is: US Govt was waiting to find a reason to stick it to offshore online poker so they could grab the market for US-based operators, eventually?

You're wrong because there is no "plan" and US "policy" on online poker/gambling at the moment is an incoherent mess with a bunch of different people all pushing different angles.
