I suggest you go read what this is all actually about.. either that or this is the sickest "I'm faking like I'm stupid" level I've ever read.

In which case, congratulations.

You need to accept that if you have money on PS or FTP it's probably gone.

well 60% of players were from the US here, I think its a combo of 2 things, the 1st is of course greed, 2nd I dont think that full tilt or pokerstars in there wildest dream would think the us gov would take there .com domain names and charge them with money laundering, fvck I still cant even believe it

I'm going to lose a ton of money on Pokerstars, but it's about 100% certain that they are guilty of bank fraud and money laundering.

I feel really sorry for the amount of people outta work now because of this

players that play for a living
web site affliates
normal affliates
people that work for poker sites, forums, poker stores, the tv shows, ect

I mean this list can just keep going on and on

how many people are going to be outta work because of this 10,000 maybe, just my guess of the trickle down effect

Can somebody summarize what the charges against the poker sites are? I am trying to read from all sorts of sources, but I can't find a satisfactory answer. So, the sites were trying to mask the deposits US players were making as something that is not gambling. What is this something? Why did it take 5 years for the DoJ to realize this, given how popular FT and PS were all this time? What are these "conspiracy" charges? All sites secretly agreed to follow the same scheme?

If the law from 2006 banning online gambling didn't exist, is there anything else the poker sites are being accused of? That is, did they do anything else which is considered illegal that is not related to online gambling being outlawed?

silver lining: FTP servers won't crash on Sundays from now on

how did people not see this coming?
I advise you to go actually read the UIGEA before you post any more of your bile.

The ONLY place in the US where playing online poker is illegal is Washington State. For the last time, if you don't know what you're talking about, shut your ****ing mouth.

I'm a US player and I played all day today, anyone else still online?

You could try reading the stickies. You have 600+ posts and still don't know how a forum works? Come on people.

If anyone who had an interest in legalizing online poker read this thread, they'd probably walk off laughing after seeing the lack of brainpower by 95% of the posts/posters ITT.

"The government will take, take your earnings in tax, but they won't let the fish play 'cause they won't keep track". Sriouslysrious was right!

I think much more likely they will cut a deal, huge fine, return everyones money, and stay out of the USA. They may fight the feds in court for awhile.

Drinking game: take a sip every time someone in this thread posts something factually wrong ("it is illegal to play online poker!"/"Howard Lederer is the president of Full Tilt") or engages in extremely uninformed armchair speculation ("you'll probably never get your money back"/"you'll probably get your money back").

They'll be enough alcohol in your blood for it to be legally considered wine, and therefore you'll become Jesus.

This is about the most unlikely deal ever. If the DOJ wanted to cut a deal, we would have a deal. No company that has gone against the DOJ in a criminal suit has ever survived. Civil yes, Criminal no.
