hey guys. Just thaught id try and help out and give a little more info on cashouts...
Location Australia: cashed out 6.5k USD to my visa acc and it has just been approved and credited to my account. This is the max cashout i can do and it seems to have gone smoothly.
Also on another note a nice brag... Up 12k at 100nl this month XD

I sincerely hope that This gets sorted out ASAP for you US guys. And urge you all to fight for your right to play online. It seems so unfair that you guys are like the only ones having trouble. Good luck!

originally I withdrew my money yesterday but I cancelled the transaction today. I figured the odds of me actually getting the money was slim to none and Ill just keep it on for now and see what happens. Correct me if I'm wrong but moneybookers is an option for non us players only. I figured that now that online poker is dead for now in the US, Im gonna have to find a new hobby to escape the rigors of work and family obligations. Ive thought long and hard and decided my new hobby is going to be...reading forums about the death of online poker.

No need to be a crybaby. Stuff like this is bound to happen, and of course only morons with no backup plans end up being the loser.

Here ya go:

Excerpt: The FBI froze 75 bank accounts and seized five websites.

These bank accounts are all in the U.S. The FBI obviously has no control over the offshore accounts and has no authority to intervene international laws. This is why non-US people can still take out money.

As a US citizen, I can't set up the account.. I guess I am mainly wondering about those in the US who have tried to withdraw since Black Friday

ll the money (in US currency) has been seized by the FBI and is documented as evidence, so PS/FT absolutely has no money at this point. Your account may show up as, for example, $3000. But really, it's $0.

You should just move on and worry about the money later. The money is definitely gone. It is possible that PS/FT may compensate players after the legal issues are resolved, but the compensation won't be a lot.

I have told my friends about this before, but...I'll mention it again. You guys should have had a backup plan before you go into endeavours with a myriad of uncertainties. But oh well; not everyone has the ability to think a step or two ahead.

I'm about sick of you and others like you spreading misinformation when you clearly haven't the vaguest idea what you are talking about.

For one, at least PokerStars has to keep player funds IN TRUST, and none of the accounts with player balances are located in the US. If you don't know anything more than anyone else, just shut the **** up and stop posting.

I guess acquiring intelligence is just a privilege, but...

When the FBI seizes the bank accounts, FT/PS can no longer control them. Hence FT/PS cannot process the withdrawals or any other related transactions. The money now belongs to the FBI --- at least until the legal issues are resolved.

I'm not getting under your skin, this is the path you chose and blaming others will not help the situation get better.

This does not matter. The money still makes it to US and having a US-based bank account (disguised as business accounts) is the only way to process the money to people like you. As I said before, offshore accounts are out of the FBI's territory.

EDIT: The reason why PS/FT escaped detection is because they bribed bank officials to not audit any suspicious activities. They practically bought out a bank. Sending large amounts of money from one country to another is flat-out illegal. PS/FT obviously has no chance to defend themselves with regards to this issue.

I doubt those two statements are contrary to each other.

No, but keep track of your government's activities. If they decide to outlaw online gambling or even mention a word about it, take the money out immediately.

This will usually happen to countries with no money, like the USA because the corporation giants bankrupted the country.

all usa poker players should march to congress and put down a huge tent and tons of other smaller tents for sleeping. they can protest with signs and **** during the day and at night play MTTs for charity of course in the huge tent. Poker players are super degen usually anyway so every couple days go to a hotel for shower, piss in a bottle and leave it in your tent, eat bbq everyday etc. camp there forever until you get their attention and from the media

wouldnt that be cool if thats how life problems were resolved
04-17-2011 , 02:57 AM
I was just about to deposit onto FT or Stars. Guess this isn't such a good idea now?

You must be delusional. Most of their money must be in bank accounts in the UK/isle of man/gibraltar/malta or other exotic places. Sure they probably lost some money in the USA that was used for current payments but that is a fraction.
The way you boast about "documented as evidence" makes me think you've watched too much CSI lately.
04-17-2011 , 03:08 AM
Just out of curiosity, if someone updates their ftp or ps client, after the update, can you still at least watch the cash games?
04-17-2011 , 03:09 AM
Yes, you can watch games, go to the cashier, etc. You just can't buy into a game.
