Ivey made the top 27 four times in the 00s (02, 03, 05, 09). I wouldn't be surprised if he never gets down there again.

Not because he isn't still a crusher, but just because the edges are thinner now and the fields are insanely huge.

Kind of a weird argument from Aguilera. It's one of the WSOP and TDA rules that is highly specific

What happened?

According to Remko on YT: Tomorrow is a day off, Sunday they play 9>4, then Monday is the Final 4.

Aguilera was on his rail when the next hand started, maybe 10 feet away from his seat. (Remember, the rule defines "at your seat" as being within reach of your chair.) Per rule, if he's not at his seat, his hand is dead. The dealer pulled in the cards.

Aguilera then asked for the floor, the dealer explained what happened, and the floor reminded him of the rule. Cut and dry, but Aguilera continued to plead for an exception. From what I can gather, their exchange hinged on a few bits of rationale:

• he was simply on the rail, not wandering around the room (floor's response: the rule says you need to be at your seat)
• the dealer should have warned him he was dealing the new hand (floor's response: it's the responsibility of the player, not the dealer)
• they're playing for $12 million up top, the rules should be different (floor didn't respond to this, but in my opinion, the players agree to the rules for the Main just like they do for the $300 Gladiators event)

I get the frustration, but this is one of those times when he has little choice but to take the L.

I looked up Faraz Jaka bio. I can't believe he's only 37, I woulda guessed 50's at a minimum.

Dumb question of the day: on this year's WSOP schedule there are a half-dozen or so tournaments specifically listed as "freezeouts." e.g. #12: $5,000 Freezeout No-Limit Hold’em 8-Handed, #28: $1,500 Freezeout No-Limit Holdem.

What is the distinction between these and the other tourneys that are also freezeouts but not listed as such?

Making this an even dumber question is that I think I probably asked it before, and don't remember the answer.

Ah, that's it, it's a distinction largely applied to the big-bet events save for the two $10K championship events. I guess you don't need it for limit games, so there is no such designator.

I would assume that all the players will have spent the day off studying and researching their table-mates, looking for betting tells etc. Will anyone change their style knowing they’ve also been researched?

it's poker degens so i wouldn't assume anything like that for most of them. it's probably more likely they been out on a huge bender celebrating the final table

If I made FT, highly doubt I'd put in any effort on the day off for research.
