Okie dokie, I missed most of the 9-to-3 playdown action yesterday, so I'm catching up with the highlights right now.
As you may recall, Holzner doubled up in a goofy hand with Weinman, getting
76o all-in against Weinman's T8 suited postflop on a flop of AK6. Weinman bet, Holzner check-jammed, and Weinman called off.
These are the same two players who got wrapped up in this Day 8 hand:
https://www.pokernews.com/tours/wsop...ips.588564.htm. As you can see, Weinman had K
7
on a flop of A
A
T
and folded when Holzner effectively moved in on the flop.
What strikes me is this:
In the 76 vs T8 hand, Weinman calls off on the flop presumably because he's getting almost 5-to-1 on the call (t2.7 million for a pot worth t12.9 million). He can't possibly like his hand, but goes with it because he priced himself in.
But on the KQ-K7 hand, Weinman did not call despite getting almost 6-to-1 (t1.2 million to win t7 million), holding a hand that could still be good and having backdoor hearts.
Short of some sort of solid physical tell from Holzner, is there something I'm missing that makes one a call and the other a fold? They don't seem all that different to me, but I also admit I'm not exactly an expert on ICM considerations.
