The build up is professional plus they use that important word again; rebirth.
Remember marketing came up with that.

Next Monday: Promotions.

I don't think tightening the "Wire Act," that means broadening it to include poker as a prohibited form of betting, and delivering intrastate poker is what I want. I think these are the people who brought us black Friday.
Looks like someone needs to pay a visit to the Leg forum...

First of all, the whole article is written pretty awkwardly, by a person who doesn't really know the subject, it seems. In the first sentence, it says that AGA is calling for the Federal regulation of online [gambling] (btw, it's poker only, to my knowledge - a sort of UIGEA II where things are tightened and even more defined etc., except for poker which is clearly exempt). So I guess you are confused by:
Quote:
AGA officials say they want lawmakers to establish consistent rules so customers will be able to gamble online securely in states that eventually choose to legalize the practice.
This means still the same Federal regulation, but in the states that don't clearly allow for such activities (see Utah's recent anti-online gaming bill), or the ones that choose to not specifically opt-in.

There are a "few" "parties" that are "involved" in all of this, so I really don't think that there was this one group (well, except for DOJ) that brought on the BF.

It seems to me this site was an affiliate of FTP b4 BF. they might have inside info i guess
04-16-2012 , 08:58 AM
Yeah, could it be some intentionally leaked info? They obviously don't and can't say anything officially, but maybe FTP2 intent to get people warmed up already?

IF GBT is behind this news, which also seems likely because of all the detail.....

I wouldn't think this means much, given that there is no reason to believe this guy. Anyone could have made up the broad, generic information he provided.

The information he gave is neither broad nor generic, it is detailed and specific.

That's not to say it could not have been made up.

Uh does GBT even own FTP yet?? IDK but I thought it was not done yet! Who knows??

The 23rd they discuss promotions, which is aimed at action.
No use to do that if we can't take any very soon.

This is under the assumption GBT is behind these articles, hence the IF.

We see different means to a result, and different results, as desirable. I don't think the AGA single handedly brought about black Friday but it is allied with the people who saw the shutdown of established interent poker sites as beneficial to their getting into a newly regulated internet poker market. While I may have to live with it, I don't see intrastate regulated internet poker, even if multi-state, a desirable result or solution.

I think BF was, in large part, about some late comers to the internet gaming market using their influence to shut down the existing sites so the late comers could enter the market and dominate it. This article is about them filling in some gaps they missed or which developed later (mostly due to the new wire act interpretation).

Yeah, but the Igaming article was obviously just generating hype for article that said absolutely nothing. This article has some detailed information.
