Is it true DN said something about not wanting Pokerstars to pay players back during the WSOP?

I also have serious concerns about posters who say something like, "I have special knowledge, I can't tell you what or why but the future will make it clear, just trust me." That person has a conflict of interest and an undisclosed agenda; maybe they are good and pure, maybe not. I don't know.
You specifically compared someone with credibility posting incorrect information (which one would assume, due to their past posting, was due to bad information rather than malicious intent) with the FTP situation, where people were intentionally defrauded. I don't see the connection at all; maybe if you were to spell this out more clearly? Because the two aren't related at all as far as I can see.

I guess we have a different definition of "unproven" since NoahSD and DF have proven before that they do, in fact, have sources as people who do/did write credible poker news stories. On that we'll have to agree to disagree, but I think that two things are clear:

1) The vast majority of posters WANT those two to keep telling us what they can and

2) The type of stuff they post is substantially different that the type of "X is coming by Y date, I guarantee it!" type drivel that the new rules are designed to eliminate.

If you have some sort of substantial complaint about this I'm just missing, I invite you to either PM me or start an ATF thread.

This. Like the National Enquirer of the Poker world.

WP Sir.......

I can't blame the Mods one bit for putting their foot down. This was starting to get just a tad silly.

The original warrant was limited to just the bank accounts named in the amended complaint. If they followed the money, there could be more but that is not part of the public docket afaik.

This is exactly why you have no standing to claim that the money DOJ froze/seized legally belongs to you!
I am under no delusions that I have standing. I just think it's fallacious to say the "DOJ did not take our money" when they clearly did. Whether they are allowed to, whether they took our money and wiped their asses with it, whether they grinded it up into itty bitty pieces and put it in their fruit smoothies to drink, whether FTP said they would cover it, the US government took 115 million dollars that was OUR MONEY, and could otherwise be used to pay the players right now. Yet we can't have it, as just like everything else in this mess, it went to line someone elses coffers.

I havnt read this thread since stars released zoom, has anything happened since then? I thought stars were going to make an announcement at end of may, was that just bs?

Can we start a second thread for rumors, gossip and uncredited information? Since we're not getting anything official these days we might as well lower the bar.

PokerStars never said they were going to make an announcement at the end of May, so you may want to re-evaluate where you're getting your rumors from.

confirmed!

the scumbags at Full Tilt stole our money but the US government seized part of the money Full Tilt stole from us.

they clearly know whos money it is they have seized, it's money from players who didn't violate any law playing.

lets spam AskDOJ@usdoj.gov. on a daily basis until we get a statement what's up with the part of our money they have!

That'll help.

laughed at the notion of naming a source.

smh.

Like most I am over the money but I do want some extensive prison sentences handed out ASAP.

Question; you rob a local store for $XXX and you generally (depening on background, armed etc) get a decent stretch in prision.

You rob lots of people for $XXXXXXXXX and get away scot free. How is this possible?? You get your ass kicked around here if you don't pay back a hundred bucks and probably shot for a thousand. WTF is going on?

Yeah, the thing that makes the DOJ scummy is they know that player money was co-mingled with what they seized, but since there's no way of knowing the ratio, they just don't care.

they exactly know the ratio, i am sure they are able to view our account balances and our deposit/withdrawal history!

even NoahSD is able to view our account balance! how much did i have on there exactly again Noah?

so they just don't care! +1

Well here are three different sources for that info

Davidian, you seriously need to calm down. You appear to be borderline paranoid.

NoahSD can't see your balance. Christ.

Although I certainly hope that they've been using this down time to put their accounting in order while they try to sell the site.

You get prison time for robbing a local store because you robbed a legitimate business where someone had jurisdiction to punish you.

Rob a meth dealer on international waters, and getting punished is far less likely.

I know online gambling isn't the same as doing meth - the problem is the U.S. Government doesn't.

Ahhhh but if you robbed a million meth dealers in international waters you would still get sentenced.

Or more realisitcally shot after robbing the second one. Surely Howard and Jesus will be scared for their lives if player balances aren't reinstated?

Lobsterclaws don't deflect bullets!

"Sophia"'s story, in particular, is so full of completely unfounded and unevidenced bs as to not have even been worth the energy it took me to click on it.

As I said, "you may want to re-evaluate where you're getting your rumors from."

Now, go out there and find us a an actual statement or quote from PokerStars that says what you claim they actually said. We'll wait...

If your only purpose here was to provide multiple links to your own stories, or alliated ones, from a site that has already proven to be spouting just rumors that were incorrect and having people here accept it as fact and face even more disappointment, is not only against the rules, but it's cruel.

Fwiw, none of us spam our own article links in this forum.

Fwiw, that site even apologized, sort of, for getting it wrong. They have new claims too btw, equally flawed, but if you get on their mailing list, I understand they give you all the details! Sounds legit to me, no agenda there.
