I saw a guy sporting an FTP t-shirt in my local cardroom the day before yesterday. I really doubt he was leveling (I'm pretty sure about that).

I see this often. I always call people out on it because it pisses me off so bad to see those shirts. The majority of recreational poker players have no clue what happened.

Same experience in my card room.

From an ESPN chat involving Andrew Feldman ESPN's poker insdier:

Chris (AZ)

When do you think the pokerstars/FTP deal will get done or do you think FTP will never get a deal done with anyone?
Andrew Feldman
(3:35 PM)

I believe it will get done. The fact that the DoJ needs to be involved makes this more challenging, but the deal should go through eventually.

I know a lot of recreational card players. They all know what has happened. A lot of them were rec players on tilt and stars.

Big deal if the are wearing an FTP shirt.

A friend told me that he heard that they will also buy UB/AP and merge them under the rebranded name Pokerspot.

As an aggregate this is easily the worst thread ever allowed to subsist on 2p2. This really needs to end soon.
06-01-2012 , 08:28 PM
I agree, it's the worst thread ever, but would you really rather have some moron making a new thread every ten seconds about this garbage?

No, I would rather allow a one time exception for mods to go draconian on this mother and carpet bomb all the non-sense and irrelevant squabble to high heaven, 1st amendment be damned.
06-01-2012 , 08:46 PM
I liked this thread alot better then CM was in here spouting his garbage than the nonsense thats being spouted in here now
06-01-2012 , 09:04 PM
I've not been able to keep up with this as much as I usually do, due to the fact I'm repairing the electricity in my house...

so basically we're hoping/waiting on some judge to pardon CEO of stars? is that seriously where we're at right now?
06-01-2012 , 09:09 PM
We have no idea what the hold up is, that's just today's speculation
06-01-2012 , 09:12 PM
The holdup is them waiting for chinamaniac
06-01-2012 , 10:06 PM

But do you want the AGCC to regulate the new FTP? That is the important question here.

doesn't matter what he believes..... he knows just as much as we do honestly. FTP sponsored friends or whatever his title was have no clue just as we do..... just here say.....

imo someone should really get to work on FTP Discussion Thread (Everything but The Big News): A Novelization.
06-01-2012 , 11:49 PM
pure speculation:

I have a good feeling about next week

Cliffs: So pokerstars sabotaged the Tapie deal and planned to never follow through with the purchase of FTP so they could save their money and their monopoly of online poker.
