How is this taking so long for Stars to settle? This is pretty ridiculous. Stars has been in negotiations and dealing with the DOJ for 15+ months now. This has nothing to do with acquiring FTP. I wish you people would stop thinking this is an FTP thing. The FTP thing is a money problem. Stars has more than enough money to fix the FTP problem at any time they wish. How is Stars and the DOJ all of a sudden at some new impasse that they werent at for the past 15 months. The issues for both sides are clear and what each side wants from the other has been clear the entire time. Lets get this resolved. Seriously what are they waiting for? Also, how can nobody know wtf is really going on in all of this and nobody have any decent information to pass along on where this stands? Whats the next milestone or next couple of steps for both sides and when they might be met? How is there 0 info on this type of stuff?

This thread has become a complete joke. Mods start modding this thread tighter. If its wild unjustified speculation lets delete it so the people who check this thread for some decent up to date news dont have to read posts from trolls posting nonsense and then read 100 responses from people feeding the trolls or from people who then post their own wild speculation based off of wild speculation of others. This thread has come completely off topic.

I've done almost a dozen interviews on the subject and have posted on 2+2 about it despite having almost no information that can't be found in this thread.

Our motives are pretty much all the same. We have money in FTP and want it back.

Joey's as good at finding conspiracies where there are none as He Who Shall Not Be Named is at 'validating' his information.

The judge can't prosecute the case. If the prosecutorial agency is declining to move forward with the charges the only choice the judge has is to either grant a motion to dismiss or appoint a special prosecutor. That is very rarely done and I see no reason why a federal circuit judge would want to do that in this case.

In the criminal justice system prosecutors choose to dismiss even serious cases for all sorts of reasons, and judges rarely question that decision. Without some very specific information otherwise, speculation that the judge in this case would be inclined to deny a motion to dismiss is bordering on absurd.
This.

The deals that DOJ has made with the other defendants shows that they're not in any hurry to go to trial on the issues in this case. They've shown that time and time again that they really have no interest in litigating poker. The main point of these charges was to put the accused out of business in the US, and they succeeded in doing that.

The judge is playing hardball, but I'd be shocked if he rejected the negotiated plea deals.

Judge might be playing hardball to put the pressure on Stars to get the deal done.

If you made your FTP details the same as your Carbon Poker details then yes, but that won't get you back the FTP money.

So it seems that according to one of my friends, who knows a guy with some inside sources in this whole thing, the judge himself doesnt have any monies stuck on ftp, however there is presumably someone pretty close to the judge with "more than non-significant" amount of monies stuck on FTP, might be one of the relatives, iv been told tho that its for sure not in the inner circle of the judges family, therefor good guess would be cousin or maybe a close friend or college.

Now the source of the guy that my friend knows, says he is not sure if this affects the whole case, however he thinks it might.

what do you guys think?
