Wow holy contradictions. Pretty sure you just reiterated my post in a more convoluted way. First it's a disincentive, which is a fee that he can choose to pay over playing 4k hands/month. The key would be for Jungle to figure out a number that wouldn't make sense for Tom to pay rather than playing.

lol based on what. threads like this that are idle gossip between a bunch of ppl who know nothing or close to nothing about the real situation?

no one has any facts, other than tom is one lazy bum. but there might be more to the story who knows. drawing conclusions on inperfect information is never fun.

he doesn't appear to be being lazy...just highly incentivized to play nose bleed live NL rather than worry about the challenge. that said its been long enough and he certainly owes it to jungle at this point to either play or settle up on the side bet.

Like I said before, Durr strategy is obvious... Challenge is set in nominal USD, so stall until global currency contagion occurs, then repay in worthless USD.

The opportunity cost of that capital is getting ridiculous. Compounded annually at 7%, over 3 years, JM is out another $337k, plus the opportunity cost of additional winnings.

Total angle shooting by Dwan.

or if jungle or durrrr goes busto (if not already true), get hit by a bus, full tilt goes down again, etc. etc.

Even if he was busto it would be very scummy to keep saying that the challenge will continue soon and agreeing to time schedules.

it is amazing, dwan actually adressed the problem of stalling in the original video in which he challenged _everyone in the world except PG_ 5 years ago (starts at 2:28):

Fairly sure the only person Durrrr has played 50k hands against since starting these challenges is Isildur

been ducking since BF, and you see people like Viffer coming out and standing up for Durrr with lame excuses like. "Tom isnt at the top of his game". Just Concede with the $1.5 and get on with his life.

Since BF? It'd be pretty tough to play when you and your opponent are citizens of a country where online poker is banned. Jungle wasn't ready to play until he moved out of the country and even then he still had more money stuck online than anyone else.

Theres a things called moving out of the country. If i recalled correctly, Jungleman12 was willing to play Durrr since 2012, and Durrr was dodging him since. I could sympathize for the BF issue affecting all US players. now FTP is reinstated, and DUrrr is named the "Professional", I just dont see anymore excuses for him to be dodging Jungleman12 up to this point, since he has a reputation to defend.

I almost forgot about his role in this already absurd scenario. He apparently bet a huge amount on "jungleman has to forfeit his 500k before completion of the challenge" (because he gets owned so bad) vs. multiple people, jungleman among others.

Viffer mentioned this here, jungleman tweeted (documented here):

Daniel Cates ‏@junglemandan
@4viffer If I recall correctly, you told me to my face you wouldnt have to pay me cus Durrrr would never finish the challenge...

under what conditions do the official mediators of this bet decide that dwan owes jungle the 1.5M? is anything under escrow besides jungles money? have any theoretical conditions even been created?

Viffer is funny in a lot of ways but he's a scammer/hustler. He bet on Durrrr and doesn't want to pay. He'll say anything to get out of paying a bet. Remember when he stiffed Eli Elezra? That was criminal to watch a guy weasel out of a loss like that. I wouldn't trust him as far as Sheiky could throw him.

BF was in 2011 bra, so no not dodging since BF. And Jungle was borrowing money from durrrr since he had like $4M locked up on FTP. Bc of this durrrr was assuming that Jungle didn't have the funds available to 4 table 200/400 and Jungle didn't communicate effectively enough when he did have the money (has admitted this).

So I'd chastise durrrr for not playing March, April, the first 1/2 of May, and August. Other than that you're exaggerating based on an uninformed opinion.
