150 * 3500 = 525.000

theoretically if WCG folds every btn from now on, he already won

well done, Doug. you should do the durrrr challenge

WCG, in regards to the above, have Sauce and you discussed a rule? And if so, how would you enforce, which is for that reason I suppose you haven't made a rule like 'no blindfolding'. Anyhow, don't think you will do just that as you will still be throwing away 500k in order to secure 100k .

Just wondering.

Don't really know how you could wonder something like that, it's absurd.

It should be pretty obvious that the person up by $201 with one hand to go is not defending the big blind.

lol, discussing such a rule would be ******ed=), i think sauce would be pretty happy if he folded every blind rest of the game, it's a nice recover in just 4k hands, not a win, but a small defeat relative to the stakes and what coulda been.

But let's imagine. 200 hands to go, Sauce/WCG 40k up?
For argument's sake, when would you consider folding every hand (knowing that the sidebets are between 110k-200k (100k+other private action).

For instance you are up 10k and get AA in the last hand (100bb stacks), you know your opponent goes all-in. EV wise would a fold be correct, what is the breakeven point with AA against our opponent 100% range.

Don't go full viffer on your theories about folding hands.
WCG is ahead by 500k and only 4k hands are left to play. Unsurprisingly, small little chance that there could be somekind of "ahead by couple of big blinds" drama in the end.
It's not that Pokerstars' superstar showdown, when all hands were numbered and progress periodically revealed to observers. There's a chance that WCG and Sauce won't even know when that magic 15k hand mark will hit because they do hand numbering by themselves and that unstable graph http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/blog/wc...ads-challenge/ is provided by 3rd party (HSDB).

If you mean between sauce & rider, I think it's 100K.

Is Sauce allowed to quit and just pay the $100k? Or did they decide they'll play 15k hands no matter what?

If WCG played Galfond right now in HUNL it would be an even bigger massacre than it is right now vs Sauce.

This.

Unless they were playing HUPLO WCG would have the advantage right now, Galfond is probably quite rusty in his NLHE game.

This. Galfond for the past couple years has been a PLO-specialist and right now he's super rusty in HUNL. I think WC said in one of his interviews that Galfond was a "spot" in last year's SuperStar Showdown (if it wasn't WC who said that, sorry, but one of the top HS HUNL guys said something along those lines).

The best people to step up to a future challenge would be either Ike or Jungle. A couple months ago it seemed like WC was someone who just talked a big game. But you gotta give the man credit, he walks the walk, and as of right now he is the #1 HUNL player in the world. That is unless, Ike, Jungle, or someone else can step up to the challenge .

u guys criticize wcg rider way too much. It'd be a much better thread if u guys stopped speculating and assumed the worst about each player's personality and intentions and instead focused on how interesting the match is.
I agree. Watch the match and maybe learn something. Both players are amazing and apparently WCG has an edge so he should get the credit he deserves because Sauce is considered to be one of the best at HUNL

Look at the ****ing graph dude. WCG clearly has an edge playwise, not luckwise. He might run good with it as well but it's hard to say Sauce is the better player, is it.

posts like this make me facepalm so hard, get a grasp of hunl variance (even the full total of 15k hands is just a lol sample to make any sort of estimations)

meh idk there's def signal in there too when he's up 27bi

for example, if you thaught sauce has a 4bb edge (and 140 stdev) on wcg he has 2.5% chance to lose 28bi or more in 15k hands. when you observe that happening you might want to reconsider

15k hands says nothing when you just look at win/loss, but when you look at the depth of the results it can

i'm sure people more familiar with the math than i am could tell us how much information is in these results
