While the forum > an individual, as Mason stated, Daniel does bring an awful lot to the forums just by his presence here. The way this was handled was poor, and resulted in ostracizing a very high profile poker professional from the site, as well as pissing him off for what really is a very minor thing.

I'd have to concur that the 2+2 management doesn't seem to get social media, despite the fact that forums are inherently a form of it (albeit a form that is losing its relevance).

Far better would have been to delete the links, and talk to Daniel privately. Coming up with a way that 2+2 could promote their forums through Daniel, and Daniel could promote his projects through 2+2 would have been a more mutually beneficial arrangement.

Just like banishing stickies to increase book sales is not in 2+2's long-term best interests, neither is banishing a high profile poker professional. Many people who come to these forums are interested in what he has to say, and I highly doubt he'll be back.

Instead, people will simply read his blog/vlog, his Twitter, etc. And 2+2 missed out. And I doubt 2+2 will be getting anything except negative mentions from Daniel.

If I were Mason, I'd talk to Daniel on the phone, apologize to him for the abruptness of the banning, explain my position, and then see if there isn't a way we could work together.

But I'm not. And he won't.

Funny how Mods aren't on the same page. They are good at bans but not debating/explaining.

Daniel's right that there's something incredibly patronizing about banning an adult to give them time to cool off. People get pissed off by that. Unfortunately, it's a necessary evil because modding the damn forum would be impossible without it.

As much as I dislike PP as a mod, he is doing a great job explaining his pov and keeping his cool. Coming off as very classy.

Jist of interview and such.. Daniel was tempbanned per direct orders of Mason Malmuth by Professional Poker..

Daniel states he was and has no ownership in Ipoker yet Professional Poker argues that fact and admits statement that the PM regarding the orginal infraction was as Daniel claims a shakedown for money. (This is apparently also not in dispute).

If Daniel does in fact have zero ownership then how he is a shill is beyond me. This is looking rather bad and basically ProfessionalPoker is kinda not even admitted that there was any fault on his part which is up to interpretation at this point by anybody looking from the outside looking in.

To me there was a serious lack of respect towards Daniel by ProfessionalPoker in all honesty during this discussion, but like anythingelse its my opinion.

I reckon if Daniel had started his V Blog with the charity stuff then went to the bad Scotty impersonation and finished with the shill segment none of this would have happened.

He did orginally but I feel like that started to go out the window the longer this has gone on. Essentially treating Daniel like a child and the assumptions and a shakedown (which wasnt denied) bothers me as a member and should bother others as well.

I agree, he never and never sounded like he was going to lose his cool. Daniel had to say gibberish to prevent himself to lol.

Even though I think he is completely wrong, he did handle himself well. A heck of a lot better than Joe imo (and this isnt a knock towards him I just feel he could have been more professional about it)

I came away from that interview thinking Daniel won't be back. Just the fact that he tweeted earlier today that he was welcoming all questions on his FCP forum to jump start it, leads me to believe he is on a mission to take away traffic from this site.

this behaviour of the mods was completely standard. kinda shameful that he expects to be treated differently to a mere average 2+2 user.

Wait im a little behind on this. Negreanu got banned by Mason because he posted a youtube link to his vlog on 2+2? Do I have that right?
