I think it is sad though because Negreanu is one of the lone regular big name Pros on here and him leaving is just gonna be bad for 2+2 in the end if thats what happens. Like it or not having the big name Pros participating adds to the site and losing them takes something away because 2+2 is the one forum where the regular joes and homegame players can literally converse with the bigger names in poker like they were sitting in a bar somewhere or at a poker table talking about just anything.
Thats whats always made some of the subforums so special. Outside of Dwans posting regarding FTPs money issues briefly, there just hasnt been the participation by big names online the last year or so, obviously BF has affected things but Im afraid the disagreement over how things were handled with DN is going to have a chilling effect upon others like it or not for fear of being ban hammered for 'shilling' or another violation.

What I don't get is that he says advertising here is pointless because something like 90% of 2+2 visitors are US.

1) I doubt it is much more than half
2) You can geo target so that US visitors never see your ads and you do not get charged for it.

If everyone could just spam the forum and not buy ads, the whole forum would be worthless. It is possible this could have been handled better, but this is far from the end of the world. Life goes on. As for mods, this place will never be perfect. There must be over 100 people that help keep the forum clean. Each has their own opinion and interpretation.

Daniel is one of the most famous and articulate live poker professionals in the world and a fantastic ambassador for the game. Also, he is the one "name" player to speak up for the victims of the Full Tilt debacle. Finally, he is the face of the largest, online poker site left standing post Black Friday.

While I'm sure that he did violate the rules, I'm equally sure that this could have been handled better by 2+2. A mod edit and a private message handles this much better in my opinion.

Pros coming to this site is one of the things that helped to make this place special. But hey, I get it, its much more important that everyone know who the boss is right?

Regardless of the rules why shouldn't Daniel be able to break them for something that is mutually beneficial? Daniel posting his vlog here helps him and Daniel continuing to post here helps 2p2.

I don't agree with the people who say Daniel (or any other pro, for that matter) shouldn't have to play by the same rules as everyone else on 2+2. He was warned, didn't heed the warning, got a little ban, big ****ing deal. Move on. Grow up.
