here is a recent take on how inflation is distributed around the world.
https://www.ft.com/content/088d3368-...7-a7680d4d81b2

even including China being shut down which obv. kills its inflation rate ....
Canada is in a very favorable place in the world with its "low inflation" rates...

here from fraser institute, dont tell me its a left institution....
Canada is still one of the best in debt to gdp ratio
https://www.fraserinstitute.org/site...-countries.pdf

"The federal government continues to rationalize its debt-financed spending based on international comparisons showing Canada with the lowest level of debt in the G7"

Now u can complain about mistake being made during that crisis.
obv. he could of done better like many of us.
But to be fair, everyone in the world did so as well and many went much further than canada.

what piss me off in all of this is if u had a conservative as a PM and have those numbers, u and shifty would throw praises and flowers on how great they manage that situation and still be ok in debts and in inflation level.
especially comparing the G7 !
Same thing toward oil , being proud to be the second biggest subsides in the g20 for oil while combating climate changes....

But when u hate someone, u just be ready to bring anything to pill on the guy without any restrain with context....

its amazing how just switching a political party in power, while the numbers stays the same, the narrative can change so much with bad faith....

ps: and what pisses me off the most is im here defending that freakn JT which i do not like much at all but damn, i see so much exageration and bad faith sometime i just have too...
Fack i even post a freakn trump video to show how right trump was right ffs to acknowledge how germany was so stupid on how they manage their energy....
i hate it !

Nope if the conservatives spend like this I would be all over them .

Let's not forget I have not voted conservative in the last two provincial elections . I hold my politicians accountable . It's why I voted for Justin the first election but than realized he was a fraud

I will never support his wasteful spending

So their is outrage amoung the Indigenous people that more is not done to find the missing bodies. At first agreed with them but than saw that the bodies have been there over a month and under 40 feet of mud and tons of asbestos

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manit...nces-1.6677777

Though the case has been made that never stopped them with the Pickford Farm?

Seems like a no win for either side

Interesting to hear Neil deGrasse Tyson in one of those youtube shorts talking about his view of the coming 'Water wars' which he seemed to think, short of some big changes to the path we are on, were somewhat of an inevitability. He talked about how when the 'costs' of desalination, in all areas of need was cheaper than any alternative, that would mean water, then was more a valuable commodity than gasoline (again short of some tech advance that could lower costs drastically). Those 'costs' do not just mean the price on the end product (gallon of desalinated water) but also the 'scale' needed to produce enough for the countries at risk.

Canada does not have access to the most Fresh water (last I looked we are in the top 5) but we will have the biggest surpluses as fresh water as we have the tiniest populations relative to the mass amount of fresh water we have available. Other countries that i recall with access to more freshwater (I think) are Brazil, Russia, China, ?, which all have much bigger population needs.

So again, I will point out Canada needs to find a way to monetize that resource and ones loznes article points to, in a way that strengthens Canada and allows us to use that strength to lead also in Climate Change tech improvements, etc, while also leverage allies who will look to protect us, instead of as Neil says, look at us for war and conquest to just take them.

Monetizing water would be the worst mistake ever , leaving out monetizing oxygen ….
I can’t imagine the wars it could entice .

I wouldn't be surprised to see a water war between, say, Indian and Pakistan over control of the Indus river valley system. But considering our neighboursrs are US (which has more fresh water than us) and, uh, oh ya that's it, it seems unlikely that mass exports of Canadian water are going to be an economically viable being sent directly. I think this is going to be more a regional thing as opposed to say the great lakes turning the mojave desert into a wetland via pipeline let alone the sahara via tanker.

But what I think is likely more economically viable is export of water-heavy exports, exports the production of which takes lots of water. Things like bitumen. And beef.

Are u proposing Canada should pay for it ?

Only cost this much and only be ready in 2025 .

https://www.theglobeandmail.com/cana...anada-lagging/

« LNG Canada’s $18-billion terminal is slated to begin shipping at a rate of 14 million tonnes of LNG a year to Asia in 2025, when it would become Canada’s first export terminal ».

US and Qatar already can do it because they already the 2 biggest exporter in the world and they expect to increase it quickly .

Fwiw u less u want Canada to create more deficit , Canada do not have imonthe same capacity of the US or Qatar to invest so much money .

Canada already positioning with 1 , maybe 2 later on .

Ps: just one lng tanker cost like 250millions + .

Good thing western governments have committed to "transition" before infrastructure and supply chain are in place. This is why governments shouldn't try and manipulate markets that done fully exist yet.

It’s called inflation .

And the US suffers 2 problems.
With a dollar too high , they can’t export much .
All plants that gets their revenues outside the US will suffer leading to shutdown .

I still remember the day when the liberals called on a conservative to resign over a $14 glass of juice

But when a cabinet minister guilty of ethics violation an apology is ok .

Bev oda did more then an expensive orange juice glass ….

She falsified government documents and lie about it ffs ….

https://www.cbc.ca/amp/1.1027221

« February 14, the embattled minister backtracked on previous statements in which she said Toronto-based Kairos had lost its funding because the group's work no longer fit with CIDA's objectives — suggesting she was acting on her department's recommendation.

Oda told the House on Tuesday that the decision not to provide funding to the organization was hers and a handwritten "not" added to a document was inserted at her direction.«

I don't think she faced an ethics violation but also remember she was forced to resign.

Justin can't ask for a resignation as he has the most ethics violations of any PM

Yes she was forced to resign because she had too …..
If you think lying to the public , falsified government documents and lied while testifying in front committees isn’t ethically wrong I just don’t know what to tell u .

What was my main point ?
Yes bev oda wasn’t just about orange juice like u were inferring….
The OJ was just the cherry on top .

No my point is she was forced to resign and rightfully so. So than shouldn't the liberal also be forced to resign .

I give Justin credit he promised things would be different under his leadership. I never thought it meant under his leadership ethics violations get a free pass

I guess she knows more about health then people working there .

Maybe she will pass a law that allow doctors not to wear mask during surgery either since mask aren’t useful ….

NO the Nurses are calling for a Mask mandate province wide for indoors which she says she will not do.

If I went to a hospital or seniors residence I would bring a mask . I think 99.9% of people would respect that if the hospital or seniors residence had a sign on the entrance requesting it
