You’ve painted the picture of a devout with the inability to absorb different viewpoints while having little to no self awareness. I hope you exist in isolation while fearing that there are millions like you

Le Grand Orange barely has an attention span of 4 seconds let alone 4 years, so forget this idea about strategizing for 2024. An interesting thought is him forming the Trump Party and taking millions with him, decimating the GOP in the process. But he doesn't really want to do that, I don't think. He's certainly spiteful enough to do it. But he never even wanted to be president, maybe king, but not the checks and balances and investigations and due process thing. It was all just a publicity and branding stunt ... but there are so many suckers, racists, religious, and rich ... that it worked. Then he stood there and said: "Can you believe it? I'm president."

There isn't going to be a Trump party. Trump did serve a useful purpose as at the very beginning he tapped into the angst of "Red" America and their feelings of being left behind by the democrat party and he transformed it into a very significant movement.

When Biden reopens the southern border and increases competition of the lowest wage jobs in the country he is only going to strengthen the deplorable army.

The party of Davos doesn't give two poops on a rainy day about the lower middle class (or the muscular class as Victor Davis Hanson calls them) as long as they get their cheap labor. They don't care if the cheap labor is in the form of deplorables or Lao Baixing from China... as long as they can keep wages depressed they are joyous.

A young good looking highly educated rebub is going to pick up this mantle and be virtually unbeatable.

Had Trump gotten very ill with Covid and Pence been moved to the top of the ticked he would have jogged to victory.... he would have gotten a few of the suburban women Trump turned off and all of the "establishment" R/ Lincoln Project types without losing a single deplorable.

A guy like Josh Hawley might be a very tough out.....

That a nice little arbitrary distinction.

Neat how it allows you to lob both accusations ('lazy, over paid and do no work', 'over worked a underpaid') and just switch between then seamlessly based on what point you are trying to make at the moment.

I agree with most all of that. The Guardian I think has a great article out that the next Trump will be much worse, and in marrying xenophobia to an actual competent and effective agenda ... will be a super candidate. Yeah, young and handsome, educated (I mean acting like he's educated unlike Trump, who I realize has degrees), populist, demagogue ... we are apparently a sitting duck for it if 71 million vote for this impostor.

I agree that sounds more threatening, but realistically the one thing Trump had going for him is his ability to manipulate and fleece dummies who will follow him, and he developed that skill over decades.

It will not be that easy for some good looking 44 year-old (man or woman) to have that type of life experience in grifting (along with the opportunities that Trump was given to hone his grift craft). This new person would also want to be in politics, which may not be the most profitable choice as well. While this super evil human is possible in a theoretical construct, it just is not that likely to happen.

I'm skeptical that any current GOP politician could effectively emulate Trump's political style - instead future such candidates will come out of rightwing media. Trump is not strongly distinguished by his coalition of voters, which is basically the same as previous Republican candidates.

I already made the call on who it would be in 2024. Either this guy:

Spoiler:

Or this guy:

Spoiler:

Weak ass players like Cruz or Rubio are no match for either of them. Assuming the second one has a reputation left after all the legal trouble Dad's going to find over the next few years.
