Curious to know how many of the 2,600 hold up.
I don't think people will crack because they are addicted, but I do think they might crack because of perceived easier games for these few days. I am also interested how many truly hold out.

Also all this referencing to players online playing cash etc at the minute. I don't think that's the key stat to measure the success or not of this strike. Plenty of people can be playing who rake next to nothing compared to some of the strikers. The key stat is net rake taken after rewards. No way we are going to get to know that.

I have counted the last list of 2563 players getting the following:

Cash Players (or Cash+Tournaments): 1133
Only-Tournaments Players: 1214
Unknown (or I dont understand Russian): 216

If we suppose that about half of the unknown players play cash, we get 1244 cash players, that represent 48.4% of the total players in list.

PD: Now in pokerscout: 29122 Cash players (yesterday = 22884)

Sure, PS put bots in to games to help look traffic normal, or even better

You have no clue about paychecks. They come close to the end of the month (between 22/28), rather than at the start of a new one.

Its the milestone hands... they planned it well

Both Pokerscout and BigPot are counting occupied seats and not unique players. So it means there's not only more players than week or two weeks ago but also much more games running (30k seats ATM, 23k seats at peak week and two weeks ago).

I'm a big fan of the strike but I've voiced my displeasure with how it's been organized and the reaction of people today just show how true it is.

People for the strike are seeing it go down. Then they say, milestones, first of month, etc, etc.. Perhaps the organizers of this thing should've thought of this or one of the many many smart poker players (I'm not being condescending) should've mentioned it in any thread about the strike....Oh, I forgot, it's only the first wave . Hopefully the next one isn't so poorly organized.

Because of the milestones starting, numbers will naturally be up and Stars will be able to say publicly how the boycott didn't affect them, but I'm sure a difference will have been made in some way.

In an case though, that's not the point. As originally stated at the start of this thread, we never expected three days of boycotts to sink Stars. The idea is to show that we care enough as a group to get something together and at least have a voice, rather than just moaning amongst ourselves in Skype groups. I think the way the community is coming together over this is already a success and something to build on for the future.

Dont say me that the extra traffic are bots put by pokerstars. If we become paranoid we'd better wont play in pokerstars anymore, because there are bots put by the company. By this system, they dont need to cut the rakeback, because for that they already have the bots. Seems to me the 1048/B chapter of "poker is rigged, so I lose" (by the way, there is a thread for this).

Looking at NL zoom games that I play, the number of players in higher stakes games (1/2, 2/5) definitely seems a bit down compared to normal, while the numbers for microstakes are way up. Who cares about microstakes, though, they don't collect nearly as much rake from those.

The field in higher stakes games doesn't look any softer than usual to me, probably because the recs want to hit the milestone hands in regular games (zoom is not eligible, I guess).

yes this is a great idea...giving them the exuse/reason to start charging on every transaction (deposit and cashout)
