If you really want a chance of bringing about significant changes at Pokerstars then this may be the best option:

Post by raidalot:

"For those who are really pissed and have the time/energy, contact the anti-trust authority in your country. (The body whose job it is to protect consumers from monopoly abuse). Tell them one company has become dominant in the industry and, having reduced the completion to an ineffective level + bought and run down the number 2 player, and despite making exceptional margins (38% EBITDA margins) on the business already, is squeezing its customers (you) even harder. They have the power to make PS adopt fair practices and/or split itself (eg sell Tilt to a real competitor). Even if they don't take short term action Ican guarantee that if they start sniffing around PS/Amaya will be very careful about doing anything else.

And check out his excellent take on their intentionally poor communication from over a year ago:

“Again, it all got a lot worse under Amaya. The new formula for communication is: dump an announcement in the Internet Poker forum on 2+2; give no notice of the change; don’t bother to respond to hundreds of posts of feedback/concerns; give BS reasons for the changes like “its better for the players”, “improving the poker economy” etc. without ever admitting its just to boost their already absurdly high profits; make the point that they’re listening to the players – even though they’re clearly not; and worst of all, don’t send out any email or anything to the 95% of their customers who don’t read 2+2. The last is very serious imo – not telling most of the customers about significant changes is pretty underhand and shows that the players are not as important to PokerStars as it claims.”

The last point that Shakerchi makes is important because it gives you an insight into the mind of the PokerStars machine. If it is still truly an organization that puts their customers first, why then am I still waiting to be told about the currency conversion and rake changes? The absence of a simple e-mail makes me think that they don’t want me to know. I don’t trust a company that thinks that way.

Anything posted by Calvin Ayre regarding Pokerstars should be taken with a grain of salt.

Here was one of his articles regarding Canada's near certain departure from the online poker scene. The government he is talking about is no longer the government, and he did include a nice picture of a mountie (the pro wrestling variety).

For what it is worth Mela, you should consider talking to these strike organizers and seeing if you can pair your personal agenda (and your communication skills) with their fading ability to get support for "work action" before they completely lose any credibility.

The Calvin Ayre article is quoting raidalot. It's worth a read regardless what you think of their reporting as it's giving the views/opinions of someone else.

I read it, along with many other things posted on his site, and they all tend to be alarmist in nature. However, in general people in this industry are alarmist and reactionary.

Anyway, as I suggested, you should consider pairing your personal crusade with the potential bodies these strike organizers may bring, but you would need to emphasize more to them that they need to think their message out better moving forward. Good luck if you choose to try that.

Which came first, incompetence or calculated decision making?

If imcompetence came first: where will it lead?
If calculated decision making came first: What is the ultimate goal and how far progressed is the plan?

---
What exactly was Pokerstars' real objective in purchasing Full Tilt Poker and which events lead to the current state (and when did these occur?). Based on the history of Full Tilt Poker since its purchase by Pokerstars, is it safe to assume Pokerstars is headed the same direction?

How much longer until **** hits the fan?

This post by raidalot should have it's own thread instead of being buried in this thread.
