Things live players do that tilt the heck out of you even though they should not Things live players do that tilt the heck out of you even though they should not

As another female player, I don't mind if someone swears at the table whether I am there or not. I actually don't want anyone to act any differently around me. I do notice though, more than once when someone has sworn in front of me, others have pointed out that there is a "lady present" to them and asked them to stop. For the most part I am pretty much one of the guys when I go to the casino, which I appreciate.

As far as tilting me, its people that are obviously sick at the table. Esp when you are in a sng or tournament and can't change your seat, and are sitting next to someone sneezing and hacking up a lung.

A guy once to my left told me he has been card dead for 3 years. What really tilts me is more things I do, for example not following up with a river bet and the fish would of folded his bottom pair. Scopes up the 200$ pot cause I got gunshy. That usually ends up with "I suck", and start betting mindlessly at every pot.

I swear far too much to ever dream of getting offended at others doing it. The only time I would get offended is if someone is actually swearing at other players, calling them names or whatever.

Once I was at the Horseshoe Hammond playing 1/2 once when a grumpy fellow told me that "where I'm from, ladies don't swear." after I said "what is this ****?" in a joking manner. I responded with "well here in America we have freedom of speech same as you menfolk," which pretty much shut him up until I left the table.

Another thing that bugs me, people that purposely show their cards when they are pissed. Some guy was purposely folding by throwing his cards in face up, even though he had been told not to several times (while others were still in the hand).

People who complain they haven't had a hand in ages, when ages is 2 orbits.

If you seriously care about what somebody says in when they're call/bet/raise/re-raising- you are part of the problem. As long as it's clear what they're doing, there is just no way this is worth caring about.

to be fair, 2 orbits at a live table feels like it takes 5 hours

X2, much better than keeping everyone guessing or having to continually remind someone to clarify their action BEFORE doing said action. People that constantly sweat the small chit kinda tilts me, lol

players that don't declare their action - instead they count their chips one at a time and then barely put them past the yellow line and the dealer has to stretch and reach and then announce the amount.

players that mistreat dealers - you don't have to tip like crazy, just be polite. Last Friday a new dealer sat down and a drunk short stacked idiot (at a 1-1 game) said after winning his first pot "great! are you going to be MY dealer" and she said "I'm everyone's dealer." Idiot "then no tip for you, either your my dealer or I don't tip." She said "I'm everyone's dealer." I was in seat 10 and quietly tipped her before the next hand saying "that's for putting up with the idiot."

dealers that don't control the game : i.e. there shouldn't be a staredown at the end of a hand for more than 2 seconds, the dealer should see what's going on and instruct the person who should be showing 1st to show 1st. Not calling the floor when there is an a-hole stirring up trouble before he actually stirs up trouble.

ANYONE with B.O. Especially dealers! this is the only reason I don't tip. If you aren't going to shower I'm not going to tip.

I feel the same. But thank you for asking Hime.

- Dealers who don't do their job or those who peek at people's holecards.
- Table coaches (players or dealers).
- Really stinky or dirty players.

Idiot players saying stupid things at the table has never bothered me. I hear much dumber things said in my daily life.

This is one that tilts me, is when some old man will say, "There are ladies present."

The last time it was thrown at me, I said, "It's 2008. They're equal."

Players in tournaments who show their neighbour(s) their hole cards before burying them deep in the muck so 'show one, show all' can't be enforced.

Can't stand it when a third party not in the hand requests to see all hands in showdown, even after nuts is flipped up and there is no indication of collusion.

Also, hate it when playing in a limit game someone loses a big hand to a flush or straight and cant stop complaining that "limit isn't real poker, let's see that **** happen in no-limit,"...as he is reaching in his pocket for a rebuy.

Lol - nice reply, I like it.

I am going to admit though, I do like it when guys stand up for me in some situations. Not to play the "helpless female card" but once some guy called me the c*nt word and told me to suck his d*ck when I knocked him out of a tournament. I was surpised that almost the entire table started right in on him, and stuck up for me. The table seemed more upset about it than I was.

Players that are arguing with one another while slowing up the game. I'm fine with you guys arguing and arranging a fight outside, but keep the game going.....

You can play and argue.

Last week I played with some people who insisted on saying "waiting" instead of "drawing". WTF is that?

My personal tilts:

1) No action to the button who then calls... Your hand isn't strong enough for a raise, you just call thereby slowing the game up for everyone as we have to watch 3 handed action between 2 blinds and a hand not good enough to raise... WHEEEE!!!!

2) People who have to berate the bad players on the bad play they just made. This is a game we are playing FOR MONEY... STOP GIVING LESSONS!!!

It's someone misusing the jargon. "I'll wait" is synonymous with "I check," at least in Northern California lowball games.

Swearing is one thing; this is a personal attack on you. Not only is he trying to invoke your womanhood as a curse (the c word), he's then making an extremely crude sexual advance. If any guy at the table didn't say something, than he is either a wuss or no gentleman, in my opinion.

But just a swear, directed at no one in particular or in normal conversation ("Man i can't believe you called with that hand, sh*t!") (I can't catch a g-d hand today!"), is no cause for commotion because there's a lady present.

This. I agree with you 100%. Nobody at the table should stand up for anybody else being insulted - with or without swearing (and, much as I like equality, I'm a big fan of chivalry too, so this goes double if the person being insulted is a woman). But, as stated above, general swears aimed at the air, god, or the world in general shouldn't be an issue.
