Thought it was a good pod and Talal is for sure a boss.

Not sure about it being one of the GOAT pods though I think people are just a bit over excited that raidalot did the pod. That said it is 100% worth watching

Didn't take much out of that. Talal seems like a great guy and pretty level headed but he didn't share much information. Maybe doesn't have the best memory

Was very happy to see you getting axelrod himself on the pod. Very interesting guy and seemed very down to earth given how big he allegedly is!

I agree to a large extent, but the world needs leftist clowns. Balance is everything.

lucky he even came on the podcast in the first place. Do you know how much his time is worth? And he came and talked for over 2hrs... he doesnt need to share some kind of life changing information. He talked about his poker story and journey like anyone else.

I thought it was a great pod, and Joey interacted with Talal like he would any other guest

Can someone explain what is the 'Brian Hastings Diet'?

It cracks me up every time Joey brings it up.

I don't get this, it doesn't sound very left wing to want to maintain the status quo of income distribution.

In the soon-to-be-ex-UK (for those who don't know, there is a high probability of Scotland (a place to the west of France) becoming an independent country and Northern Ireland becoming part of Ireland (a country to the west of France) within 2-3 years), you see a lot of cool kids from rich families who espouse idealistic socialist views until, some time around the age of 30, they start earning money and having to pay taxes, and their secret elitism floats to the top.

IMO it's stupid to be "anti financial markets" because they exist and function whether you like it or not. There are however debates to be had on how and how much to regulate markets.

TimStone is right tho that such talk has no place on a poker forum - socialists don't make good scumbags. Certainly no place in this thread. Sry for continuing the derail

Thanks.

The book I mentioned was "The Money Masters" by John Train. This is a more recent version ... http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...rs_of_Our_Time

For anyone interested, this is the SCOOP ME hand I mentioned ...

5-handed, 125k/250k + 30k ante.
UTG (20bb) folds
Scott Siever (9.2m) opens 565k in CO
BTN and SB (both ~20bb and playing conservatively) both fold
I call in BB with QJdd (16.2m stack)
Flop (1.4m) is 345 with 2 diamonds
Scott bets 578k, I call
Turn (2.6m) is Kd
Scott bets 1.47m, I call
River (5.5m) is 2c

I now have a well-disguised flush. From the way the hand played out and previous experience with Scott I believe his range now has a lot of A, esp Ad, which means he now likely has a 5-high straight. His remaining stack was 6.6m.

I now have 3 options: check, shove or smaller bet. All are worthy of consideration. I chose to check (hoping to c/r) but afterwards felt that was the wrong decision (in fact the worst of the 3). I was influenced by (1) Scott was playing a little more cautiously than usual, (2) he had the second largest stack (even if he folded to a shove) and (3) a check makes more in the event that he doesn't have an A. But immediately after the hand I regretted the decision. (btw some will argue with flop and turn but I'm happy with those in these particular circumstances).

The hand is at about 1:50 here ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8yNSbuOv6k

But I have A in my range (and btw I do have some bluffs in my range here - I can rep a 6 or a flush).
