congrats DD

if I had a reason to homeschool (like if I want sailing with my family) I would have no problem using something like that. The problem I'd need to look into is if it could be used as an accredited program. You generally do a coraspondence course that gives you credit for the grades, making it much easier to get back into school at the grade level when it's time to go back to school.

If that isnt already setup through the school it probably will be soon.

while i don't have kids, I could only really see using this as supplemental as the knowledge part of school which can be done anywhere and usually a lot better outside of a school isn't the real purpose for kids going to school. kids go to school so they can be around other kids and learn how to function in a society.

I used to agree, but now I have mixed feelings. I'm not so sure school is really a good education in how to function in a society. The typical environment in public schools is not much like society as a whole. It's also very different than anything in our ancestral environment, which I think makes it reasonable to question whether it is well suited to human nature. School teaching kids to function in society could be accurate in a more menacing big brother/brave new world kind of way.

I didn't see this so much when I was in school or when my kid's were in elementary school. But, now that one of my kids is in middle school it looks like schools is unnecessarily stifling. You might say that the pressure for conformity is the mechanism for learning how to function in society, but the real world is nowhere near as structured and judgemental as middle school. (not just "kids are cruel", I mean the teachers, curriculum, standardization)

It seems like either home schooling with a lot of participation in home schooling groups or an old fashioned tiny school where kids of different ages mix a lot more might be a better model for a good society.

They do respond kinda fast, but of course there is never any content nor an actual answer to your questions.
So same bad quality feedback brought to you faster.

That would be my standard bet with a double gutter anyway....

Srsly, I think I've done that a few times in SNGs, but I play PLO cash so I can never overbet misclick. The misclick I have done a few times is when I have accidentally open limped with rags at something like t400 or t600. Luckily it seems to have worked out OK for me so far, prob cos most people are putting me on AA.

Yeah married for the last 5; it was a fairly amiable split though and best of all no lawyers whatsoever. It's actually kinda scary how quick you can get a divorce in Florida. Ha, now I can go lose a few hundy playing 200NL at the dogtrack and only have myself to worry about.

After driving around the ****tiest ride in STTF for the last 10 years, I finally ditched the rusty beast for a 2011 Civic coupe.

My 91 Mazda pickup will always hold a special place in my heart, especially the totally boss wood bumper, but damn its nice to drive something clean and smooth.

I generally agree but would say it is more of how to have interpersonal competence. University/College or a first job is where I would say people start really learning about how to function in society.

School=how not to be an *******

University/College=decision making, since it for a lot of people is the first time they are autonomous to decide.

Looking foreward to watching that lecture and might have more to say after.

To often. Big ones I remember

Open A2s and make it 333 at 5/10 instead of 33 and having to call a shove for 1k and losing.

Betting 1k instead of 100 for value with AK on K103J10 and getting called by A10.

That might have worked in 1986 but not so much nowadays. Now I'd probably just get jumped by some "democrats" out for kicks.
