Congrats DD that's awesome!

Someone shoot me in the ****ing face please. My JV lacrosse team has our first game today and the varsity coach just called and told me that he is taking our goalie. So we do not have a goalie for our game today, and are just going to have to grab a kid, throw some pads on him and hope that we don't have 20 goals scored on us.

Congratulations DD! Bound to be a big guy like his Dad. As someone who always said they didn't want children, I love being a Dad and have no doubt you'll be the same.

Pretty entertaining youtube channel to kill some time (sound NSFW): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6IqH...has_verified=1

Here's the story on this one: http://www.thesmokinggun.com/documen...brawler-653092

Quote:
Describing herself as a “first-time spring breaker,” Smith, a mother of four, said she had traveled Friday to Florida with friends and three of her children, the youngest of which is two and has cerebral palsy. In anticipation of a night of drinking, Smith, pictured in the above mug shot, said she went to the Burger King to “get something in my stomach.”

After arriving at a police substation, Smith asked cops “where her children were at.” She then told officers “she had her 2 children with her” at the beach. But when an officer sought details about the children, Smith was uncooperative and “very vague.” Cops did not have enough information to report the children as missing.

And this one (NSFW semi-naked fighting): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSU_l...eature=related

Holy crap, this one has a hell of a payoff at the end: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xaPPV...eature=related

Asher - That sounds suspiciously like a wager.

Were I anyone other than myself, I would book that. However, I am me and as such am prohibited by the NCAA from wagering on any collegiate event. Sux to be me.

But I'll gladly cook you a steak the next time you are in Tucson to help ease the pain of UConn's loss to Arizona tomorrow.

Congrats DD!

While we're on the matter of kids....

Parents/others of STTF:

Thoughts on this?

Would you ever consider using it as a substitute for traditional education for your kids? Supplement? Perhaps even for yourself in certain areas? Discuss.

Watched the first 30 mins. Will finish later.

Amazing idea IMO, but not sure that I would replace standard education completely.

That said, I don't know anyone that's ever been home-schooled or similar and Ireland had a pretty good public school system.

Alex - I watched most of it and was sort of meh about it.

It's impressive that brilliant minds are making their lectures, concepts, etc. available to those that have the technological skills to benefit from their lessons.

The issue has always been (and will always be) the source of funding and the associated "bent" that the money brings. Pure information is valuable and necessary, but is rarely delivered either online, in schools or on TV without some social or political viewpoint driving the message.

The best teachers have a way of creating a great environment in which students desire to challenge themselves and others. Hard to do with a video, but that guy is at least on the right track in terms of thinking how to better our educational system.

The NEA probably loves this guy, as the potential for less work is there and the funding comes from the "correct" social sources.

Does anyone know black card support's email address? I've been a member for about a month now, but haven't heard anything from them and can't find their email addy on the website.

I just got this pop up when trying do withdrawl via bank transfer (which I have always used): "This payment method has been disabled from your account. Please contact customer service should you require further information."

WTF? And I also have 2 withdrawls from about 3 and 4 weeks ago that haven't shown up yet either
03-25-2011 , 11:35 PM
Standard support address for the time being sounds like the only plan. gl.
