How does one catch a virus these days anyways?

I mean, even if you open e-mail attachments called "LOLOLOL-funnyvideo.avi.exe" every AV program will plaster your whole screen with "OMG VIRUS! OMG OMG OMG! DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!....? [OK] [Nah]".

However, KB, i'd say: most likely. depending on your windows version just repair it w/ da CD/DVD yo - if you killed the virus ofc.

From what I hear and the pics I've seen Banff in Canada is insane. I'm going on another photo trip in August to N. Cascades NP and Crater Lake. Hopefully I'll be able to swing an extra week to check out Banff.

KB - Just re-boot in safe mode and restore to an earlier point (prior to being stooooopid). Should be all good except for the crap you've worked on since it happened.

Noodle - That's cool. I'll also be working the NCAA tourney in Tucson. 3rd time around for me (one each NCAA Women's Regionals and NCAA Men's Regionals). Long day on Thursday, but really good basketball and fun to play a small part in something huge. Have fun!

I dl torrents and look at porn all day and havent gotten a virus on my pc laptop in the year ive had it. Dont think i have an antivirus program either. Maybe im just lucky.

I use avira and it takes care of most stuff but if I get a virus I usually manually remove with great success. i was able to make that previous post b/c I had mozilla open when I realized I'd ended my own world. I rebooted and tried a system restore but didn't have any restore points. Essentially I had to be able to isolate the reg key (impossible) or get a windows repair disk/reinstall windows. Since I was planning on getting a new machine after graduation anyways I just did that lol. Anyone want to send me microsoft office????

If you go to Yosemite, you can do a trip where you fly into SF, do some stuff there for a few days, maybe Napa, etc. Drive to Yosemite, a few days, then to Tahoe from there, few days, back to SF and out. Or something like that, Cali has a lot of sick stuff to see/do.

I drove from Calgary through Banff, on the way to Vancouver (spending the night in Kaloomps (?)). Sick, sick, sick scenery, love the aqua blue color of the water against the towering Canadian Rockies as you meander along a mountain stream.

Same trip as driving through Denver, fortunately gas was under $1.50/gallon back then

I assume you mean Kamloops? I love it up there... I grew up in Vancouver so it wasn't that far of a drive back then. There are some pretty sick hot springs up there as well

Thanks a lot for all the suggestions, lots of good ones for us to consider. Visiting some national parks is a cool idea. SF/Napa is definitely on the list.
