It's exactly not. People fleeing war is different, as they may get political asylum or whatever. I'm sure the Jewish people who fled to america went through a process of becoming a citizen or a resident alien of the united States. Probably every single one of them. Which is the right way to do it.

Wil, according to your logic the underground railroad was wrong. What is the difference between the underground railroad and your insistence of following the laws?
They left due to political or religious persecution. They also showed up to a wild, open place to carve out a new life and a new country out of nothing. They didn't show up to Germany demanding entry.
