2 pair magazine is ran by solid people but 65 dollars rake for a 300 buy is ridic high for a non wsopc event.cordova tourney looks decent exept if u buy in before feb 1 u get and additional 2 k in chips therefore all those players would have an advantage against the field which is horrible lol.good luck chasing magazine covers though!

You are close and not the first one to confuse those two.

Depends what level player you are and what disciplines your trying to master. NL cash, tournament, 1-2, 2-5, 5-10, online, live?

I want to mostly focus on cash games not really into tournaments. I play 1/3 now but eventually want to move up to 2/5. I pretty much have the basics down, I just need to work more on putting players on ranges, and finding situations to be more aggressive.

Wow that rake is about 18%. Seems like tournaments keep raising rakes. Hurts the value and adds to the other expenses like travel.

Looking over receipts for similar events it should be closer to 10-12%.

Why so much?

The girlfriend is busy this weekend so I have all Saturday to gambol, gambol (low stakes no limit). I live in downtown so have only played at Capitol but was thinking about checking out some of the other rooms in the area. Are there any differences between player pools at the various Indian casinos (I know Thunder Valley has a country concert and Cache creek has a Vietnamese concert) or other local rooms?

Which do you prefer? TV's 5-5 or Cap's 2/5?

i honestly think there is more money to be made at 1/3 than the 2/5 nit fests in sac. that isn't always the case but it is my preference to crush low variance 1/3 games and bum hunt nutted 2/5 and 5/10 games when action is good

Really? I feel like if a player beats 1/3 well then he can make a higher hourly at 2/5. There is just so much more money on the table at 2/5 and the raises are very large. I don't play 1/3 only 1/2 though, and the 2/5 game plays so much bigger than that.

The fish are less passive at 2/5 which means that they make mistakes in the form of aggression usually and that is harder to play against and makes the swings bigger.

I haven't played the 2/5 at Cap much recently, but all I ever hear is people complaining about how nitty it is.

I really like the 5/5 at Thunder because it plays a lot deeper than most 2/5 games. I wish they would have just made 2/5 $200-$1k, but having the 5/5 with $300-$1k is a nice alternative to the small 2/5 games there.

It hasn't seemed to have a huge effect on the 5/10 yet either, so hopefully that continues.

Great private 5-10 game off Bush Street in the heart of China Town, action should be great being that the Chinese New Years Parade is today. You will need to speak a little Mandarin and watch out for collusion, they use hand signals.
