Interesting that my wife, the slot player did not. I've been there twice and played poker (1-3 ) and video poker (mostly 25 cent ) both times. Some of those 25 cent machines cost $4.50/pull, but still...

I should add that I had a red card from Vegas that hasn't been used for years.

Maybe they're not filling the hotel at $650/night ? Anyway, wanted to know if others are seeing offers yet.
How close you live? I’m wondering if free rooms will be going to non locals to get them there.

Just got back from Encore and I love the fact that this property is 40 minutes from my house on the south shore. Anyways I talked with one of floor managers and enquired about starting a mix game. He told me that they can't do draw games but variants of Omaha and Stud are allowed. So who is down with a 8-16 mix? And what day/night would you guys want to play?

As for the games I would like to see the following:

- Double Board Omaha Hi (we could play it with 5 cards)
- 5 Card Omaha Hi/Lo Eight or Better
- Stud Hi/Lo Eight or Better
- Razzdugi
- Razzduecy 2-7 (this one kept giving me trouble at the 9-18 at the Wynn. Got to remember the ace is always high for both)

All of these are split pot games.

Very interested but 15/30 and up.

Very interested 10/20 and down. Btw what's a typical buy-in at limit games? I haven't played them in a while. Like 40 big bets?

I wouldn't mind 15-30 myself but you want to build a game that they haven't spread yet and not be too intimidating to new players. 8-16 is a good start. If we get two mixes on the board one 8-16 and the other 15-30 at the same time we will probably have a tough time getting at least one game going. How about we work with the room a dedicate one particular night to 8-16 and another to 15-30 or 20-40? So when the 8-16 is going they won't spread the higher game and vice versa.

Poker grill review. I went twice. The Italian sub is quite good, though a little pricey at $17.

The chicken melt is mediocre at best, though it came out lickety - split. I wouldn't get it again.

I’m assuming you are referring to the food that’s delivered?
I’ve had it once. I’m not a chicken finger person but the chicken fingers were pretty good. The ranch dipping sauce is top notch

I typically buy in for 25 big bets. Even with a 5 bet cap, that's enough, but since it's limit, it really doesn't matter.

Went to the garden Cafe for late lunch yesterday around 2:30pm. Was trying to go to Mystique (not open for lunch), Red 8 (closed between lunch and dinner). My girlfriend is vegetarian and I mostly am and we have found Encore to be a bit challenging food-wise. Veggie recommendations appreciated!

We got the mezze garden plate for $20 and the avocado toast for $17. I'll include pics. The toast was ok but literally one piece of bread with some guac and soy beans. I know this is upscale but to me this is pushing the limits. Wish we had ordered the Margarita flat bread instead because I saw one at another table and it looked good.

Mezze plate was pretty good. The humus tasted good but had an unusual texture, like a very firm paste.

Side note, I had the pizza slice thing from the poker grill. It was basically a thick piece of ciabatta bread with a tiny bit of red sauce and cheese. It tasted good but felt like I was just eating a loaf of bread. Wouldn't get that again. Fries are really good though.

Most of my poker calories come from whisky or the occasional white Russian for dessert.

As a vegan I’m pretty disappointed with my options. The dining website alluded they’d have options but I can’t find anything quality. Got my smoothie done with almond milk at Bru but most staff don’t seem to know the difference so I opt to eat offsite.

Just deleted a bunch of low content chit-chat posts. Sounds like several folks need a reminder of the forum rules.

1. Don't identify other people (players, employees, etc). This includes describing them.

2. Casino threads are not for low-content posting. I tend to be rather lax in enforcing this rule, and allow it to some degree, but some of you have been doing it far too much ITT. Please take low content posting to the New England thread (it's allowed in Regional threads) or to PM.

Would absolutely be in for this. Does MA allow double board and the other Stud variants? Anything up to 10/20 would be great.

The list of legal poker games in MA has been posted a couple times ITT but I can't quickly find them right now. It's fairly limited and very specific and a little odd. I was disappointed that razz isn't allowed but 5 card stud, and maybe even 5 card stud low is.

Encore had announced that it would soon be taking signups for 1/3 NL. Their announcement page currently states that they are taking signups for all games other than 1/3 NL. It does not say that they plan on taking 1/3 signups at any future time.

AFAIK, the only legal Poker Rooms in MA are at MGM, Springfield and Encore Boston.

I think he means that there is a list of games approved by the gaming commission that can be played at Encore and MGM

I’ve eaten at the Garden Cafe twice. Well once I ordered and brought it back to the poker room. I’ve had the tuna toast, which I posted a pic of, it was delicious. I also had the linguine Vongole. It was good. Not the best I’ve had but it ate all of it and was satisfied.

I’ve eaten at Waterfront twice. The first time I had the smoked bluefish rillette. It was good but tasted a lot like a tuna fish sandwich.
The second time I ordered the Lobster Poutine. I was so pumped up for this but I couldn’t eat it. I love salt but the gruyere cheese sauce was overwhelmingly salty. I sent it back and asked the bartender what his favorite thing on the menu was and he said it was the Waygu sliders so I ordered that. Meh. Was good but I wouldn’t order it again.

I thought that Wagyu beef sliders at Waterfront were the best I've ever had!

Drink service woes continue. Another cocktail waitress quit mid-shift, and many tables (like the whole half of the room I was in) were without service for several hours Saturday afternoon. Not sure what their deal is, but they really need to fix it. Manager was talking to one table, but I didn't see him hustling drinks back and forth, which is what he should have been doing.

Ate at the Garden Cafe with family, and had the ribeye, which was excellent, wife had scallops, which she said were very good, son had linguini with clams, which were good, and son's friend had chicken and the lobster mac 'n' cheese, which he didn't eat much of. We also had ahi and burrata/prosciutto appetizers, of which the burrata was the better (if you like burrata, that is.) Total with 3 total drinks and tip: $315. No comp $ were available on my red card, even though I've played at least 30 hours. I assume that will get worked out at some point.
