Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa (Atlantic City, NJ) -- FAQ in OP, updated 2021.08.16 Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa (Atlantic City, NJ) -- FAQ in OP, updated 2021.08.16

I checked for rooms a few times today and the first couple times I checked, every night for the rest of the month was either sold out or $399 +.
I checked it again and a comp showed up so I grabbed it (I have a day to cancel it if I don't want it) and when I checked the calendar a few minutes later, that same night was $399... I will never figure this place out.

Yea everything til September sold out or $400+, if I see a comp room I’m taking it don’t matter what day it is at this point

Edit: just checked tomorrow and Wednesday comped, Thursday $400+ and everything else sold out. Wasn’t planning on going tomorrow

Hard to say, but I'd guess mask mandate only comes back if Delta variant or general resurgence of Covid hits peak of pandemic levels. From what I'm hearing on the news there is legitimate concern around the rising rates, yet there hasn't been any significant return to restrictions. If the vaccine keeps the body count relatively low, it seems we're going to continue business as usual.

Estimate based on pondering for a few seconds - 20% chance we fall back that far? I hope less

On the comp situation, I really wonder how much of the wildly fluctuating rates have to do with the business side (how many bookings and cancellations they have, trouble forecasting player revenue etc.) and how much is just technical errors....I don't know much about computers but I have to imagine MGM makes enough money to hire somebody who does lol

I think it’s all technical errors and seeing how nyc is making up weird vaccine rules I would be surprised if NJ doesn’t follow suit at some point. In Vegas they got people wearing masks again

I legit don't know what the rules are in NYC any more. I only really go out twice a week for dinner dates with the girlfriend, and usually wear a mask indoors, but looking around there seems to be no consistency on what we're "supposed" to do.

I checked 2 hrs ago and my 2nd night was 499. I just checked now and it was comped, so I grabbed it on a separate reservation. Then I went right back to check and it said 299.
I've been doing things like this all summer, it's just hit or miss literally.

In effect soon in order to eat indoors watch movies etc you need proof of vaccination

I've been checking since Saturday for this coming weekend - it wasn't even giving me a rate, just not available. A few minutes ago Friday - Sunday became available comped - jumped on that faster than my buddies could reply if they were still down.....they are not

The computer issue is a computer issue that's understandable, but having players initial that they need to cash it out in 10 minutes or lose is ludicrous IMO.
It's 30 minutes. Even that's absurd for the poker promos. I understand it for the main casino promos, otherwise people would register and leave the casino and have a friend notify them to return if they won. But in the poker room you have to be actively gambling to win the promo, plus it's the player's money, not the casino's. It's sort of like requiring a slot player to cash his/her payout ticket within 30 minutes or forfeit it. If someone challenged the poker promo time limit with the gaming regulators, I suspect it wouldn't hold up.

I'm pretty certain it's 10 minutes unless it was recently changed

As far as I know, yes. I've only played once since the change and haven't seen an Express Comp increase from it, but the Tier Credits were correct at 75 per EC.

The updates section at the top of the FAQ only includes things that are currently different from what's in the main text. I sent the mods an update to that section which hasn't been inserted yet.

I heard it was 30 minutes several weeks ago. Last week I experienced it myself when I hit the promo and was told by the floor I had 30 minutes. When I hit one early last year I don't remember being told about any time limit. So this time limit thing might be a relatively new policy and might have very well been 10 minutes when they started it. It might coincide with MGM policies taking full effect at the Borgata.

The weekend room rates at the Borgata are obscene. They are more expensive than some of the most luxurious resorts in the world. Borgata is not one of them. I don't know if it's because of Covid, MGM, or the fact they can get away with it from the packs of 20-somethings who will sleep 10-to-a-room and split the cost that is sometimes as high as $699/night, but it's kind of ridiculous.

Foxwoods rooms are more expansive now than pre-covid. For them it's partly because the hotels are not at 100% capacity due to staffing issues. So less supply -> higher prices.

The 10 to a room thing dead too because now the security scans your room key before entering that area. I’m sure they’ll let you bring a few people in but not 10 lol

They can issue 2 keys, and let 5 people go together if they need to, but 10 in a room is even too many for 21yr olds.

When I stay next to the suites on the end, I've seen parties with 20 to 30 people in the past, don't know how they can do that now with the electronic key checks unless they tell the officer "We're all together"

Yea I guess 10 is possible with multiple keys and people going together. Those young people probably hanging out most of the night don’t even really need the room other then to sleep for a couple of hours. Back when comp rooms were available damn near daily sometimes I’d book it and check in and not even use the room
