Check your account online at Borgata to see if you still have comp room offers . MGM had made some changes as of end of April 2021 including the Borgata website. I would say the changes are not good including inconsistent comped room offers to poker players.

So naturally, "tourists" are at a bit of a disadvantage since they have to make decisions based on what they see during this particular session and this particular hand but reg have considerably more information based on years of knowing the opponent. With that being said i am very curious to hear what other people think is happening there that could be interpreted as implicit collusion.

I am guessing we played at the same table once or twice
Nothing here about collision though, yes in every poker room there are regs who've played against each other for years and years. That's the same everywhere. I don't see how this is scaring away tourists. Also, when you play with the same dealers yes they get to know you and engage in small talk at the table. It's nothing that should alarm you.

Thx

My phone has bad reception at work so I’ll check when I get home

**** So the the one 7.5 hour session no longer get guarantees comped rooms?

The reason I ask I’m 70 miles away and there are closer options to me

I might just head to Parx

There were about 1000 winners last week. I just got an email stating I won $15 slot dollars and have 30 days to use them (I had Cincy). Hardly worth the trip unless you live close by or are coming anyway. The sportsbook went an unimpressive 6-9 last week, so there may have been more winners than the average will be per week going forward. They were 2-4 in the lower point spread games. This week they picked all favorites except in two games, taking dogs Cincy and Dallas (Drat, I wanted Dallas for my contrary pick), and the line is moving towards Cincy but I doubt they will be favorite at game time.

I knew it was only a matter of time after supplemental UE benefits ended that tournaments would be back. I feel like these tournaments are just to help accustom the dealers, new and old, to tournament dealing for the first time in months. Shouldn’t be too much longer before we have a series again. Hopeful for a winter open!!

They've been hiring new green dealers the past several weeks. No doubt some dealers have been waiting for their UE to expire, but some of them may be SOOL if they rejected a request to return to work and didn't, as they've been replaced. Others left the business completely or relocated. Some of these green dealers will be dealing in the tournaments, so expect a learning curve.

Pipedream…. Not even a long shot. I feel we will be lucky if we get a big mtt series at the end of next year. They are running 2 tournies a week starting in October. It would be crazy to think they will start running big field mtts so quickly.

Btw anyone have thoughts when big series at borgata will resume? I would guess a long time but time will tell. Would say fall 2022 at earliest and even that might be too hopeful.

Fall seems like a stretch, anywhere from winter to spring 2022.

i literally think we'll have a series by end of february. Borgata isn't stupid, they know their demographic and they know they have a cash cow in being *the* premier east coast casino for tournaments. I think they're testing the waters rn to see how the dealers are and how demand is. I for one am dying to get into an almighty stack tournament ASAP

A deep stack tourney would be fun. I think the first few tourneys at borgata might have a very high turnout

One of the problems is that it's 100% MGM now, and MGM is stupid. Plus they really don't care much about poker.

I hope you are right however I don’t think tournaments yield profit like a cash game.

Nobody in the northeast is running big mtts. Why would borgata go out and run a series when no one else is. I feel it’s kinda a meh sign they are offering 2 tournies a week. Normally it’s like 2 dailies a day lmao. Testing the waters? I don’t think they would possibly even have the staff to run a big mtt. Hope I’m wrong but no way I see a series early in 2021.

I fee tournaments aren’t worth this risk honestly. There is a reason no casinos in the northeast are running mtts. Cash games are way more profitable in comparison to tournies.

Maryland Live dailies and awesome weekend mtts. A couple multi-day 1 tourneys a month. But they seem to be the only one in the NE.

Casinos don't really care what kind of poker is running because it's a loss leader and more about drawing people in to spend/lose money in other parts of the casino. If they feel like adding a tourney series is going to get people in the door, that could move them to do so. You're right that staffing a big issue, though.
