He plays both poker and some pit games (craps/21). He is not a tourney player, as I think they do run a promotion for entering tourneys.

Glitch in the system, poor comp dollar tracking, unknowing black card upgrade, or a deal I don't know about?
I think its a glitch, or something new, no info on website..I did find that if you enter 5 tourneys in Feb, you get a comp buffet in March

I recall receiving an email recently saying buffet was 2 for 1 for red card holders for a limited time with no point deduction. Maybe that's what stumbled on.

Thanks. I was aware of some tourney = comp thing, but he's not a tourney player, at least I didn't think so.

Thank you. I didn't get that email, I just double checked. Sounds more reasonable, but he claimed zero charge... ie 2 for 0. Maybe different players got different promos? I got 2 for 2 (no discount), you got 2 for 1 (buy one get one), he got 2 for 0 (two free)?

A quick google search turned this up... this started too recent for this to be his explanation.

You have to physically check it in.

As the above poster mentioned, the reservation is in your name, you have to physically be there to check into the room and it is non transferable, however you could check your brother into the room and then leave.

In addition, it could hurt your future room offers if you get a room for a weekend and don't play.

^^ this is true. By getting the comped room you are considered "there" for each day of the stay.

They list guest stays as "visits". I don't really get it. I think they wait until there is no activity on the players card for like 15hrs

I asked last year. Each new " day" starts at 6 or 7am.
I often play till 1-2am, then start again @ 8-9am.
I was told if leaving around 10- 11am,which I often do, better to not be clocked in for 2 hours.
It hurts your "average hours played".

Play from midnight- 6am counts as previous day.

You physically check out at the front desk, say you check out at 11PM, use the free parking with your players card, and are off the system by 11:15, since you have a reservation for that night, I think they still count you as there for the next day? Not sure.

This relates just to timed poker promotions, right? The time to earn January bonus comps runs out at midnight Sunday, not 6am Sunday. If there's a promotion for all day Tuesday, it ends at midnight not 6am. For just average hours and whatnot, the casino day (6am-6am) applies.

I hit 13/16 in the $40K Pick the Pros contest, that might be enough to win. It's not like picking 16 games during the season. It's 1 game and lot of it was luck, like kickoff, 1st score TD, last score FG. Some old hag who knows nothing about football will probably hit 16/16. What a tease!
